Soviet Russia: Were they socialist or were they there own version of socialism?

Greetings,

My questions to yall are, did the Soviets run a textbook example of communism for 70 years? Or did they go astray from the textbook and do their own version of communism? Is communism just tyrannical in nature or did the soviets do communism in a totalitarian manner? Did any of the russian revolutionaries talk like Zohran does or Bernie does or any one of these recently winning DSA candidates do as they did back then?

Music in the classroom

Have any of you guys thought to play music from the era currently being studied in class? For, when studying the Roaring 20’s, have any of thought to play music (jazz) from that era to get an immersive feel about the time and place of study? I’m not a history teacher, I would like to be one after I complete my bachelors. But, can anyone tell me some hurdles I could expect whether it’s the Admin staff or the kids and their parents. School appropriate songs are of course the only songs i’d be referring to. Thanks!

Senior Thesis: If you were there, let me know!

Greetings, fellow O's fans!

I'm currently researching my senior thesis topic for my History degree. For the uninitiated, the goal of a senior thesis is to contribute something new to the field. Since my topic cannot occur after 2000, I'm focusing on "The economy of an MiLB prospect pipeline: Exploring how Frederick and Hagerstown local and small businesses were or were not affected by the influx of attendance for the Keys due to the wealth of talent in the Orioles' farm system from 1989-1992." Or something like that, I haven't fully fleshed that title out yet.

Being born in 1998, I was curious if there was anybody in this community who could provide testimony on whether they attended minor league games in Hagerstown or Frederick during those years, provide insight into which players were the "can't miss" prospects and the highly touted players, and give any other memories of the environment you can share (ie, bars, restaurants, vibe at the suns or keys stadium)? If you have any paraphernalia (like a ticket stub or anything from that era that relates) and would like to send me a picture, I can send you my email. The only comparison I can think of that relates is when Strasburg and Harper were in Hagerstown for that same stretch of time when Manny was in Frederick, but the 2010's "aren't history yet", so I've been told. I looked up some names from the era, and Ben McDonald, Mussina, Arthur Rhodes, Steve Finley, and a few others were listed. Any memories of the time help!

Thanks!
