Need help choosing

So I’m relatively new to deathwatch, I started as world eaters and have just started collecting a second army because I was gifted the Armageddon deathwatch box for my birthday and was wondering what would be the best route to 1000pts in people’s opinions.

I have the Armageddon box and the watch master currently and was going to play the veterans as 2 5 man squads separately with the blackstar carrying one of the squads with the watch master and was going to proxy in some terminators as I only play with friends and we are a pretty chill on the proxying as long as it’s still in theme and base sizes are correct.

Then I was thinking of picking up ferren aerios to lead the other veterans, a chaplain in terminator armour for the termies and a redemeptor dreadnought the round out to 1000ish points, I know I’m slightly over but as I said I mainly play with friends and we just kinda match each others points pretty closely depending on what we’re playing

So I was wondering in peoples opinions am I going down the right route with deathwatch and what are some recommended units you guys play with and think would be useful

How does the “inviolable transport” ability work

My friend and I are in an argument about how this ability works, if I get angron to use his axe which makes 8 attacks with his “strike” ability and they all hit does my friend get to negate all 8 attacks or does he just get to negate 1 of the 8 attacks that would potentially go through and have to deal with the other 7

We are talking about the mastodons “inviolable transport” ability

He’s arguing that the declaration of using the axe is and attack and I’m arguing that each dice roll is it’s own separate attack

Help needed deciphering 11th edition rules

So my friend and I are confused as to how wound and damage allocation works can someone please help sort this out from this theoretical scenario

If a unit attacks another unit with 5 attacks and those attacks total 20 damage against a unit of 10 enemies with each model having 2 wounds each then how many models are removed from the table

He’s arguing that all 10 are removed because the damage equals 20 and I’m arguing that only 5 are removed because 5 attacks were made and it doesn’t matter about the total damage added together
