New GM here! What License Level do you guys usually start at?

Howdy!

Recently got into this game and I got an idea for a Monster Hunter style campaign and Im trying to work out how to do progression. From what I gather License Level isnt given via XP but through gathering resources/gaining favor with manufacturers/factions. Ive seen some people suggest starting at level 0, and im leaning toward that since my players are also going to be brand new to the game.

Is level 0 a good place to start, or should I start out at a higher level?

Thank you!

Edit: Alright got it! Level I start! Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Starting on the 2nd Draft of my first short story

So I found out Royal Road loves AI so I pulled all my stuff off it. Now I'm working on redrafting them, go for actual publication. Really liked this paragraph, its the opener. Feedback is welcomed!

I HATE the Infinity Universe

Look the game is real good I just have everything else about it. The setting is dog shit and the models dip into gooner bait. I really wish it had better fluff so I could sink my teeth into it, but alas, all I got is watered down Altered Carbon and rejected Mass Effect desgins.

Domitia by Wolfdawg Artist

[Exerpt from Dead Waves]

The cult was upon her now, en masse. They lacked Domitia's raw strength, but they had numbers. The sheer weight caused her to fall to a knee, with them piling on her shoulders, arms, and legs. Shivs and hunting knives bit at her joints and armor seals, and pistols bounced off her helmet as they tried to finish her. Domitia roared as she forced herself to her feet, shaking her shoulders and arms free of cultists. She contemptuously cranked her kinetic maul and then smashed it into a coral man, turning bone to powder and scattering his comrades. A blast from her lance vaporized the torso of another and caused many to break and run.

Others rushed in with bigger guns, opening fire at point-blank range. Buckshot cratered into her chest, Domitia replying with a bolt of ion to the man's head. Another raced forward with a big game rifle. The spiralling patterns along the barrel shone underneath the coral growth that grew from his chest. Domitia saw him and stomped forward, swinging her kinetic maul, crunching his neck; the ensuing explosion of kinetic energy caused his head to pop. As he fell, he managed to fire a single shot; the immense round glanced off her helmet, sparking and causing her to whip back. The concussion caused her to see stars as she stumbled back. The cult saw weakness and piled on her again, redoubling their efforts as her vision blurred.

"Let me," a darkly sweet voice in the back of her mind said, "Let me take care of this, war-horse."

Sejanus, her Legacy, began to assert itself over her. She could feel it pumping hormones and stimulating throughout her. She began to feel herself slip away; the roar of the cultists grew muted, the figures a blurry mix of colors as her eyes unfocused, an alien smile slowly overtaking her face.

"No." Her hand found a grenade. "I got it."

Seeing as some folks liked her here's another Domitia drawn by Jeetdoh

Really liked this one. Based off a scene where she is facing off against a mech.

Writing a character inspired by Samus, meet Domitia

Im writing a collection of short stories featuring the character above. Domitia is a Bellator, a biological enhanced soldier created by the Coalition. After becoming disillusioned with the seemingly unending wars to protect the corporate interests of the Coalition she joined a revolt against the Security Council and the Big Five Corporations. The rebel Bellators were ultimately defeated, Domitia barely survived, saved by Dell, a diminutive alien who had been exiled by the crime syndicate he'd been born into.

Together the two trek the Liminal Lanes of the Fringe, the edge of known space. They scrape out an existence Bounty hunting, running supplies, and battling the occasional horror from beyond the stars.

Idk if this is allowed but I thought id share it here since her design and a bit of her personality was definitely shaped by Samus.

Edit: ALMOST FORGOrT

Artist is Jeetdoh

Bro this season fucking sucks

Its so clear the writers want the Court Case to go on for another season or two so we gotta keep rehashing the snarker arc for the rest of this season. Yeah Connor going American Ex-Husband was entertaining but we still keep coming back to it. Like can we fucking please progress on the political arc?! Mid Terms cant come quick enough
