Teeth worn almost down to the nerves – constant pain when eating. Dentures or crowns? What’s life actually like after?

My teeth are extremely worn down — most of them are almost to the nerves. Eating has become painful; even softer foods can hurt. I’m at the point where I need to do something, and the two main options on the table are getting a bunch of crowns (or maybe implants if possible) versus going with dentures.
I’m trying to keep an open mind and would really like to hear from people who’ve been in a similar situation.
A few things I’m wondering about:
• For those of you who chose full or partial dentures because your teeth were worn down or broken down, how did it affect your sense of taste? Did food taste muted or different at first? Did that improve over time?
• Did the pain when eating go away once the worn teeth were gone and you had dentures in?
• Anyone who went the crown route (or a mix of crowns and dentures) with teeth that were this worn — how has it held up, and was it worth it compared to just extracting and getting dentures?
• What do you wish you had asked your dentist before deciding?
I’m not looking for medical advice, just real experiences. The pain is getting hard to ignore and I want to make a decision I won’t regret. Any stories or advice would be really appreciated.

Is this possible and how long ?

I’m 5 ft 10 and 215 pounds right now. I was at 283 at my heaviest. How long would it take and is it possible for me? The picture of the guy in shape isn’t like body builder lean and I don’t want that either. I never lifted weights so I don’t know anything about it. What would I have to do to get in the same shape as the fit guy ? I should add that I’m an ultra runner and I have run 100 miles twice. My best was an intermediate trail run in under 26 hours. I want to lose it and keep it off. It would make my running so much easier.
