German C2 Level Test at the Goethe Institut

Hi all,

Has any of you taken German C2 level test? Mine is next week and I am starting to panic that all the other people taking it will only be uni professors or doctors, or people who have been living in Germany for 20 years and speak like natives, and I’ll feel completely out of place…
I’ve lived in Germany for 5 years, passed C1 exactly 2 years ago, have a very neutral accent but now I’m getting anxious.
Anyone with any insight of “which crowd” take C2? I’m only doing it for myself. However, I was surprised that at C1 test there were many people who seemed to be very far away from fluent German.
Any experiences are appreciated!

Looking for feedback on makeup trial and hair

Hi all,

I asked for a rather natural makeup. The artist is on the expensive side for my location, and for some reason I don’t feel that convinced… I don’t normally use makeup almost at all so cannot really evaluate it, but it somehow doesn’t feel “good enough” if that makes sense?

I will wear glasses and have “fallen eyelids” (not sure about the right term), and it did not sit well with me when she said “she could not do much with my eyes due to this”

I kind of liked the hair, but it started looking kind of messy after 6-8 hours.

Would appreciate some honest feedback!

Do you consider leaving Bonn due to the current situation?

Hi there,

Considering the situation with the North bridge, do some of you consider leaving Bonn?

There are so many construction sites in the city where no progress has been done for years, so considering that, the new bridge project will probably take 10, if not 20, years. In the meantime, other infrastructure will probably also fail…

I don’t have a driver’s license and am not used to driving a bike in the city, so it’s not an option for me. I rely on walking and public transport.

I am seriously considering moving out even though I like Bonn. It just generally feels like everything is going downhill here, not only in Bonn, but in infrastructure Germany-wide.

I’m curious whether anyone else is considering moving due to the current situation? It feels that if I had to go to the office somewhere in Bonn, it would take me 1.5h in rush hour, which is crazy for a city of this size. High rent prices coupled with the fact that politics do not seem to be addressing this issue promptly kind of make it no longer worth it?

Rant over :D
