Does Canada Life PSHCP cover peanut treatment medication (powder)?

Hi! Wondering if anyone on here has had success getting peanut allergy treatment (peanut powder) covered by Canada Life PSHCP? There's only one pharmacy in town that fills this prescription and they refuse to take my insurance info to run it through. When I try to submit the claims online it rejects the DIN number. I called Canada Life customer support and they were not helpful. The claim they walked me through submitting seemed very incorrect - had me select miscellaneous when it is a drug - problem is when you select drug it asks for a din number and then says the din isn't valid.. this claim has had no response for over a month. Before that I tried I filled out the pdf claim form and emailed it to the insurance company and they messaged me back saying it has to be submitted online...

Paid sick/disability options immediately following mat leave?

Hi! I think someone online told me that core public servants don't have short term disability only long term but my family doctor didnt believe me when I told him this. I am in the PA group. Is this true? I started standard mat leave last summer and have extended with lwop parental. I am supposed to go back soon but for the past few months I have been experiencing debilitating pain in one hip requiring me to lie down for chunks of the day with a heating pad. Fortunately my husband is a teacher and has been able to take over child care since I find it too physically demanding. Fortunately baby starts daycare soon too. I am wondering is it possible for me to take some kind of paid sick leave or disability leave without returning to work? I only have 3 weeks paid sick leave left in my balance. Another weird thing is that even though I am not an executive, I am in the executive disability insurance plan not the non exec one because my very first indeterminate position was in a non unionized government agency. I am not sure if that is better or worse or makes no difference at all. I do realize that I could take more unpaid parental leave up to 18 months (I have 3 of those months left starting in the fall). Just wondering if there is a way to collect EI and/ or disability insurance in the short term instead without returning to work first for 3 months since I have expensive medical bills, I have already used up my physio coverage for the year and I will need to pay for daycare because I can't look after my kid for long periods of time. Tia!

Seeking moisturizing products for hair that has oily dandruff but frizzy shaft

Hi all! A couple years ago I developed really really bad oily dandruff that could only get clean after multiple washes with head and shoulders. I tried heavier duty medicated shampoos for it too when head and shoulders wasn't working but it didn't kill the oily dandruff. A couple months later I got pregnant so I only felt comfortable using head and shoulders and nothing stronger/using different chemical medicated shampoo or prescription. But I did figure out to leave the head and shoulders on my scalp for a few minutes and using a silicone root scrub brush to clean my oily scalp while pregnant and continued this approach at 10 months postpartum. And other blow drying my hair dry right afterwards because I wash my hair at night and I think that going to bed with wet hair may have caused the issue.

Anyway now my hair is super dry and frizzy and I think it is from washing with head and shoulders classic every day to every other day. I use the KPAK moisturizing conditioner for damages hair on the shaft of the hair after washing with head and shoulders shampoo but still the hair is dry and frizzy static mess not a cute look. I just recently tried washing my hair with the sulfate moisturizing shampoo with hyaluronic acid from Monday shampoo and then used the Monday deep conditioning hair mask and while my hair was so much smoother after the wash it was impossible to get my hair at the scalp around my face dry with the blow dryer which makes me think that one or both of these products is too oily for my oily scalp... Bummer. Maybe just the shampoo with a different conditioner will work but I fear I may never be able to put a conditioner on my scalp again to tame my greying flyaways and postpartum regrowth.

Wondering if anyone has similar hair issues and has found products that moisturize and smooth hair with greasy dandruff without leaving an oily residue on the hair? How do you get hair with oily dandruff looking nice and clean but not tried out and frizzy? Also if anyone has found a medication that killed their greasy dandruff for good I'd love to know that too! Tia!

Can a walk-in doctor access radiologist's x-ray report? Just

Can a walk-in doctor access radiologist's x-ray report? Just found out that my family doctor who ordered the x ray is on vacation next week and he has yet to receive the x ray report. I just had the x ray done last week on Friday at 4 pm at Victoria General in Halifax.

Seeking tips on returning from mat leave with an injury

Hi I am set to return to work after 15 month mat leave (3 months unpaid) in a little under two months, however I recently discovered after experiencing 3 months of consistent pain in one of my hips, I may require surgery. I am also nervous about going back to my desk job so soon because of the ergonomics with the hip pain from impingement. I don't want to leave the public service and I would like to avoid having to pay back my mat leave top up if possible. How long do I have to go back to work to be able to go on leave for an injury after mat leave? I believe I have 3 weeks of paid sick leave left in my balance. I also think that I could extend my unpaid parental leave up to 18 months without losing my position so I am considering that option as well. If I had to go on some kind of medical or injury leave following my mat leave would I have to pay back the top up? Thank you in advance.

Physiotherapist recommendation for hip issue?

Wondering if anyone has had a positive recovery with a physiotherapist in Halifax to treat hip flexor strain? If so who was the name of the physiotherapist. I am on leave until 1st week of September and I can keen to get this issue fixed before I go back to work when I will have a 2 hour plus commute everyday and no time for physio appointments. First time mom here, I don't have time to waste. No dry needling or tens machines please I have had hip flexor pain on my left side for over 3 months now so I guess it's chronic at this point. I had low back pain before but it went away once I started sleeping with a special pillow at night but the hip flexor pain remains. I have tried a lot of different stretches and am doing some ab and glute work to support my back every day but I could use a more comprehensive professional approach with someone who understands I am a busy working mom of a baby and I do t have time to waste on multiple meaningless appointments with no results.

Recommendation for physiotherapist on the HFX peninsula

Looking for recommendations for a physiotherapist preferably located on the peninsula who is very detailed in their postural and movement assessments of clients and can help me pinpoint how I should be moving better (e.g. Standing up from sitting and getting out of bed, sitting, standing etc). I have had hip pain for the last 3 months. Been doing core and glutes exercises everyday after I started getting low back pain 4 months postpartum. I am 9 months postpartum now and my low back pain is gone but the hip pain remains. I have had many pelvic floor assessments with various pelvic floor physios and nothing is majorly wrong with my pelvic floor or abdominal muscles (had a 1st time caginal delivery, 2nd degree tear and no ab muscle separation). I am not interested in dry needling and I live in the peninsula so North end to downtown location please. Tia!
