My Lyft driver brought back the groceries I forgot.

I don’t have a car so I’m familiar with both rideshare and grocery delivery. Yesterday the Instacart app and website were glitching, so I took a Lyft to Aldi (it was 91 degrees or I could have walked), did my shopping, and ordered another Lyft to get home. Both drivers were fantastic. I unpacked my groceries and realized I was missing a bag. Fortunately nothing perishable but still a bummer.

This afternoon I got a text from my downstairs neighbor saying a guy dropped off a bag saying a woman who lived here left it at the store. He must have made another trip to Aldi.

Dwight, I favorited you in the app. I hope all your rides tip 50 percent (I certainly will), the other side of your pillow is always cool, and all your favorite music groups stay together and keep putting out good music.

Building a Gen X workout playlist.

I got rid of my Spotify a year and a half ago and didn’t think to carry my playlists over to Deezer and Tidal. I’m looking for songs to keep me energized and motivated.

Any genre and era is OK, although I don’t know much rap or country after the mid-2000s and much pop after the mid-2010s.

It’s late and my evening was a total clusterfuck.

Mango and sparkling water. I should probably make something with protein but I’m just waiting for my nighttime meds to kick in.

Posting here so I don’t scream.

  1. I supervise customer service aides on a call center. One of my staff told me that a caller called her racist and misogynistic slurs. All I want to do is call the guy and tell him what I think of him, but despite the fact that I hate my job right now (see item 2), I do want to stay employed.

  2. One of my bosses is a micromanager, staff regularly try to gaslight their supervisors, and after reporting an employee for using ethnic slurs a month ago, nothing has happened. I don’t think the employee got any more than a reprimand.

  3. One of my housemates had a mental health crisis on Friday. Her boyfriend (who also lives with me) is trying to get her to seek mental health treatment or leave but I have the feeling that professionals are going to have to be involved sooner rather than later.

  4. The less said about the cluster that’s happening in D.C. and my state capital, the better. And all that politicians can manage to do is send half-ass petitions and ask for money.

I’m on psych meds and HRT, I see my therapist next week, I walk my dogs a minimum of 45 minutes a day, I have a consultation with a personal trainer next week, and I’m sober, but I’m full of rage. I can’t focus on work and all I want to do is eat stuff that’s not good for me (I’m trying to lose weight yet again).

Any suggestions?
