Armour - Torso, Undersuit and boots

I know this isn’t Halo, but I figure there is a lot of carry over and I may try for a Spartan next time.

I’m finally going to try my hand at going to Comicon this year (UK) and am hoping to go as Commander Shepherd.

I’m planning on 3D printing most of the armour, but if I print the lower torso and lower back (that comes with the files), there is no flexibility, so I was thinking of printing the abs and back plates separately and velcroing them to the undersuit, maybe with a bit of structure.

Veteran cos-players, is this a stupid idea?

How do people do torso armour and remain mobile?

My other idea is to create the base in EVA foam and then gluing the plates to that.

But I don’t know what to use as an undersuit, or where to get one?

It has to be fairly tight to conform to the back and abdomen.

I’m thinking of maybe one of the stormtrooper under suits and gloves.

Finally, does anyone have any suggestions for shoes / boots to go under the leg armour?

How Long Do You Walk For?

Ok, so we’ll try this again.

How long do you walk your greyhound for, in total, on average, per day?

We were clearly mis-sold the “20 minutes twice a day” as ours will go all day.

On average ours gets 2+ hours a day.

Te-grinding a tip

I’ve broken the tip on my higonokami and it’s missing the point. Maybe only 1-2mm or so.

I have a sharpal 162N and their fixed angle system.

How do I go about putting the point back on it.

Cheers

Khukuri sharpening

Years ago my brother bought me a khukuri back from his time in Nepal. I’ve never sharpened it, but would like to do some maintenance on it.

It won’t get much use, but it has a lot of sentimental value as he has passed away.

Anyone got any advice on how to sharpen it?

I can freehand sharpen kitchen knives to hair whittling sharp, so know about angles etc. but the curvature on the blade I have no idea on what to do.

I took the Monster (1200s 2019) in for service this weekend and test ride the Diavel V4.

I have to say I loved the cruiser feel, comfortable and fast. Needs a bit more working to get it alive than the Monster, but it was very good! I’ve been offered a good deal on one by the dealer.

But I’ve always had Monsters (M600, M900, 821, 1200).

Anyone made the change?

How are you finding it?

I’d like a bit more noise, but £4k for a system!! The Termis on my Monster sound great.
