So my idle was a little low(around 500rpm) so I have since adjusted it via the idle screw on the intake manifold , idle obviously increased and the tacho was a little lazy , when I was adjusting since the tach was so lazy I had to play it by ear just wanted to know if this sounds adequate , PS I’m fully aware of the ticking that’s my manifold leak I need to fix
Right well now I’m pretty sure it’s my timing belt that’s making this noise , it’s a brand new INA unit with a brand new tensioner , the tension was checked twice by the mechanic so I don’t know what else to do , the belt was tight to get on the car as it does have the earlier pressed pulleys , it had an INA 127 tooth belt and tensioner fitted to it , the only thing I can think of is it’s blowing out of the manifold as it has a snapped stud
Any input would be greatly appreciated as I want to get this sorted as soon as I can
Does anybody have the part number for the rubber bushings that hold the pivot shaft for the throttle pedal , it was like a yellowish clear rubber and it just broke apart in my hand
Okay so I’m kinda panicking a little , my E30 is from 03/1986 , right hand drive with an M20B20 , it’s got the early block dizzy
The reason why I’m panicking is because it’s just had a timing belt and tensioner , my car parts place who are pretty good supplied INA 530000610 which has the belt and the tensioner , tensioner says R127 on it , is this the correct belt for my car? I head about some changes to the timing so I’m panicking a little
I’m pretty sure it’s just airflow but I just wanted to be safe , as you can hear it sounds like when air breezes through a cracked open window so I’m just assuming it’s the fan as the engine rpm goes up
Here she is now! Turns out the ECU was fried so after a new ECU was fitted all appears to be back to normal , might want a valve adjustment but I’ll let you be the judge
Hey guys i did a coolant flush on my M20 E30 the other day but noticed this morning its got a leak from the thermostat housing , the coolant runs down the heater core tube from the thermostat and then drips on the block , im almost certain its coming from the port that connects to the thermostat housing as they are all very pitted , Ill be honest im kinda scared to remove the thermostat housing as i dont think its ever been removed and I dont want the studs to snap in the block , Is there any safe alternative solution to stop the leak? like sanding the ports down and applying some sort of paint or sealer? any help would be much appreciated
Okay so I have had an issue recently , when the engine is cold I got this very nasty rattle at about 1k rpm cars on 130k with an m54b25 , I suspect this rattle is the vanos as it sounds identical to some vanos rattle videos and it’s much less noticeable when engine is idling only when you rev it up to 1-2k does it appear , my main questions are this.
Chain movement in the video is the chain movement on both chains okay , I can’t lift either of them up , just a tiny bit of lateral.
And is the secondary tensioner supposed to ooze oil out when pressed , if so I’m probably going to replace it when I do the vanos
