The uncle and dad dynamic in raising children.

As a kid, I would always look forward to going to my uncles house. Why? Because he’s fun, Unlike my dad who held me accountable. He’d check in to my room to see if I am studying, he wouldn’t take out for fast food unless I deserved it (academic/sports achievements). He threaten to disown me if he caught me with drugs. He was 20% fun uncle but 80% dad

My uncle on the other hand would take me out to McDonald’s and buy me candy any time we visited. He was lenient. But when we are out on a day trip for example, he would always make sure my seat belt is buckled etc. so 80% fun uncle for 20% dad

Although my father was strict with me, he would also take up the cool uncle role with his nephews.

I find that these 2 dynamics balance each other out quite well. You need a dad that constricts your balls but a cool uncle to occasionally blow your load in

Graduating from Uni at the Brisbane convention centre. Out of these spots. Which one offers the best view?

Where in iraq can one fully immerse themselves to relearn arabic

I am preferably wanting to relearn the iraqi dialect that pronounces some “K” words with a “Ch” instead, so:

Kalb = chelib (dog)
Sekkine = sechine (knife)

Does anyone have any experience at attempting to relearn Arabic by moving to the motherland? What did you do? How much has your Arabic improved? Does your accent sound local now? How long was your stay? Were you scared of being robbed because of being found out as a foreigner? Did you find love?

This is my mother’s tongue. I refuse to breed without being able to speak it like a local.
