Day 145: Picture #1: Bosikappal turned out amazing. Picture #2: Stag Horn test run turned out really good. Picture #3: OG Orinoco got taken of the line today. It did well, a little longer to cure and dry. Picture #4: Leftover Stag Horns that need to finish off.

All and all was an excellent and fun season. The Bosikappal is my all time favourite of the last 6 years. It's an amazing looking plant that has a surprisingly good yield. It cured super well and smells amazing already. Stag Horn is amazing, grows huge, excellent yield and easy to cure. It makes my list of possible regrows. Orinoco was the black sheep this year. It was slow to start, slow to grow and has a very low yield for the time it takes to grow. It cured ok but wasn't easy. I ended up with quite a few smaller, uncured leaves that I tossed. It has a great story but I wouldn't grow it again, the yield is not worth the time and effort put into growing it. I'll be leaving all the tobacco in bins for a few weeks and bag it to age down the road. It will sit 12-18 months keeping my rotation stash well stocked with yearly additions since 2021. Next up, I'll be doing GC-1, Little yellow and more Bosikappal next year.

Day 142: Arriving at the end of the adventure. Pictures #1-2: Stag Horn got threshed manually. Picture #3: Bosikappal is nice and dry and got pretty dark after 3 days outside. I will leave these in bins for a couple of weeks to release residual ammonia then bag eventually. Picture #4: Orinoco.

Apart from the white flies infestation and a mould scare on the Stag Horns everything went according to plan. A perfect run is impossible, there's always something that's going to happen, which is why very close monitoring is key.

I decided to threshe the Stag Horns because the stems were huge and still very wet even if the lamina itself was ready. The wet stems were causing some white fuzz on the lamina when the leaves were hanging. I took them down, put them in the blazing sun today and then took them in and did a manual crush and picked out all the stems and tossed them.

Day 141: Second day with Bosikappal tobacco in bins outside in the sun for fermentation. Some major colour change after a short time. You can smell the leftover green and gases coming out of the leaves when you open the lid. Orinoco and Stag Horn coming along good, still hanging for the rest of the

Day 139: What should have taken 20 minutes took 2 hours but I got it done. I must of had some white flies on a few leaves that came inside and it turned into an infestation. Not a big deal for the tobacco itself but I had to brush off all those paper like eggs from the majority of the leaves.

This is the Bosikappal. I put the lid on to keep natural heat inside and I will be putting the bins outside in the sun lid on to add some heat. The lids also make it easy to shake the leaves around. In the past years I was using cardboard boxes, worked ok but these bins are an upgrade, they keep more heat in and will last for a lifetime. The Orinoco and Stag Horn needs more time on the line.

Day 139: The Bosikappal is just about dry except middle stems. I'm cleaning them up(flies), flattening the leaves and putting them in the bins to stack ferment and finish drying(shake the box around daily) the stems. They'll stay in the bins for several weeks, the critical part of curing is done.

I'm doing it slowly, no rush. I'll do the Orinocos and Stag Horns next week as they have a bit of curing/drying left to do.

Day 137: Seeds are done. Most of the green is gone on the leaves. We are blessed with a high humidity summer this year which made things ideal.

Day 134: Picture #1, Stag Horn. Picture #2, Bosikappal and one row of Orinoco on the right. Picture #3, both seed plants were ready, cut and brought inside to hang to dry before bagging.

Northwood seeds came through as usual. Got some Little yellow and GC-1 for next year's gardening extravaganza. I also got confirmation I can use plot #2 again so this is great news!

Day 130: 1 of 2 bosikappal seed plants is ready. When the pods are brown and you hear the seeds rattling inside it's time to cut it and bring it inside to finish drying and bagging it for next year.

Day 128: Super humidity lately, I run the fan a couple times a day for a few minutes to exchange the air. Minor but annoying issue: I have white flies that must have came in on a few leaves and started spreading. I brushed all the eggs off, swept and tossed them outside.

The flies are not damaging the leaves but it's just super annoying considering this cure room is in my apartment. I shook the lines to get some to drop/fly away and brushed a ton of them off. When the leaves are fully cured and dry I'll give them a final brush before putting them in bins. Everything else is going well...it's almost impossible to have a tobacco run from seed to smoke with zero surprises. I can live with this one, it's annoying but manageable.

Day 126: We're having ideal conditions so far, colour curing going well. The Stag Horn (picture #2) is curing well too, it was hung a few days after the Bosikappal.

Day 124: Bosikappal seed plants have shed their flowers and the pods have swollen. They need to dry out before cutting them. Should be ready by next weekend to cut and put away for next year.

Day 124: We've had humidity in high 60's last two days and now high 70's% this morning, colour curing is moving along nicely. Yesterday started having an amazing smell in the room that reminds me of honey, replacing the green smell of the first couple of weeks.

The Bosikappal continues to be possibly the best tobacco I've grown yet. After being an absolute fun time/success growing, it is colour curing really well, no issues and the smell right now a couple of weeks in is absolutely enibriating. Smells like warm honey and hot baking bread. I am feeling very confident at this point that it will be my first recurring variety.

Day 122: 68% humidity today again. We've been blessed with perfect conditions so far in Montreal.

Day 120: I got some plastic 68 liter totes for stacked fermentation instead of using cardboard boxes this year. Colour curing is moving along nicely.
