About third party utilities
For reference, I've been using Daz Studio for years and have written some scripts and add-ons for it.
That said:
Has anyone found any good third party utilities for use with Daz Studio? Every now and then I rummage through github for things, but not everything is there. I'm wondering what gems I've been missing that would make life easier or more interesting when working with Daz.
Has anyone noticed the strange github repos for Daz? The ones that promise a"digital atelier where imagination meets automation" or one that work by "integrating advanced neural synthesis with the Daz 3D ecosystem". Then the code section contains a 70 line yaml file. I swear the 'promo' Readme is longest thing. Any idea what's going on here?
A few things I already use, in case anyone's curious:
- siblount/PMForDAZ: For easily installing all that sweet Renderosity, Renderhub, and Patron content easily. It hasn't been updated for years but still runs. Anyone found a better one?
- bluemoonfoundry/daz-script-server: An active developer with a few good Daz projects. This one basically lets you run complex scripts using an api. Why? I use it with my StreamDeck/Bitfocus Companion. He's also working on an mcp/llm setup and better content browser.
- ibrahim-humadi/Daz-Misc-Scripts: another out of date repo. Some of the scripts require changes but they have some good ideas.
- Diffeomorphic: Really trying to see if I can make the switch to a Daz/Blender workflow, particularly with the subscription model Daz 6 is pushing.
- My repo for using an Elgato Stream deck is outdated and I don't have the bandwidth to work on it, particularly since switching to Linux I've switched to Bitfocus Companion.
Any thoughts and what third party products are you guys using?
