Speaking only of the Original 6:  choose any Shark or Sharks and their signature phrase, compliment or insult – they say over and over and over again – which you find annoying.

“Good Day, Busman”

Elitist and lovable Frasier, so out of touch with the common way of life.

How are you bribing a city bus driver to stop where YOU want him to?  “Perhaps if I just shove a little encouragement into this box.”   The disinterested look on the bus driver’s face is so real.  LOL!!   Love this scene!

What is your favorite/memorable episode, scene, line or action that shows Frasier isn’t as “connected” as he thinks he is?

This Guy?! Epic!

Mark Sullivan with the Sullivan Generator – classic ST pitch!  He started going on and on about “coriolis effect”, “precipitates”, “and gold . . . G O L D”.

Love this pitch!  The Sharks were looking at him like who is this guy – Kevin even asked how long he was visiting earth.  They all lost it when he said he writes music, sews women clothing and handbags.  This guy was something else!

Burying A Grudge

I admit, this is most times a “skip” episode for me, but I watched it last night (haven’t in a long time).  There are some funny lines and scenes that I enjoy:

The hospital waiting room scene with the rolled-in lady patient.  I like to think the writers purposely staged it to float the idea this could be Maris as the Doctor walked right up to Niles with the lady patient – until he said “your wife is in recovery . . .” then walked off.

Martin’s hospital reunion with Artie Walsh and the barbs they throw at each other.

At 1901, Daphne trying to appeal to Martin to be nice to Artie.  Martin seems to relent and builds up how he is going to buy Artie a stuffed animal, hug him and never let him go – then blows a raspberry in Daphne’s face.

The final scene where Martin and Artie are both trying to get in the last word – and old softy Martin let Artie have it.

Hmmmmm . . . .

Watching my nth series restart last night and during Dinner at Eight, I had a thought – when Frasier introduced Niles to Daphne (while she is fluffing his knickers):  what is the age difference there?  As we know, Frasier is 40? 41?, so Niles has to be two to three years younger, perhaps making him 37? 38?.  Daphne is clearly not that old.  Her flightiness and lilting demeanor can give the air of youthfulness, but she isn’t cast as a teen.

What is your best guess of the age difference between Niles and Daphne?

Troubled Waters - Let’s Add A Final Scene and a Shrewd Last Line!

Last we see of Hayden Danziger, he, Columbo and the Captain were inside Bridge while Columbo was sealing Hayden’s fate with fingerprints on the stashed gloves.  The Purser enters and announces the Police Launch is coming alongside ready to take custody of ole Hayden.  Captain directs Mr. Danziger escorted to the lower deck and handed over to the Officer in Charge.

But before Columbo is racing all over the ship again looking for Mrs. Columbo – let’s add a scene here:  cut to the lower deck where Hayden is handcuffed, shuffling toward the launch – suddenly Sylvia enters the area, looks at Hayden and says, “________________________”.

"You've Got To Lick It and Stick It!"

Ah, Dr. MacLowery - Taps At The Montana!

Love this episode: has a quirky added character and one of the Crane boys' famous disastrous parties!

No Judgment Here - What Is Your Unpopular Opinion?

As many of us have been in this Frasier community for awhile, we know all about upvotes, downvotes, cheers, jeers, raised eyebrows, poo-poos that pertain to characters, episodes, scenes, lines, etc.  We may not all agree on these things, but feel free to unburden yourself and post your unpopular opinion about the show.  We won’t quibble – just read someone’s post and move on!

So, what is YOUR unpopular opinion?

There’s No Crying in Shark Tank!!

Over the years of ST, we have seen folks break down and cry for silly reasons.  Which pitch do you think is the worst?  Thanks!

Mine is the sister and brother pitch for Wee Shop (children store shopping).

Which Frasier Invitation Do You Accept?

A weekend in a cozy SKI LODGE with a roaring fire and mugs of hot buttered rum?  Guy is preparing a delectable French meal and will teach you to ski – he will work you very hard!

 OR

A few days of sailing the high seas on VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED?  Plenty of entertainment: doing the Barracuda in the lounge, yucking it up at Giggles' comedy show.  And there is a midnight buffet with Caribou (that doesn’t taste like chicken)!

OR

Taking to the road like dusty hobos to Sun Valley in the RDWRWR?  Oh yes!  Seeing the high country in “Van Ordinaire” complete with a stop at The Little Red Cabin – Home of the Log Roller!

Do You Love Me?

Post Ray Fleming’s next line (wrong/true/incorrect/funny) – your choice!

Mine is  “Well, you’re alright, cute enough.  I just need you to help me get rid of my wife.  Oh and I will throw in a discounted therapy rate for you going forward.  How’s that?”

Favorite Scene from The Show Where Woody Shows Up Episode

(And Woody isn't in it!)

Daphne is wonderfully soused in this scene and I love how Niles is bobbing his head to her off-key singing as if she is singing a sensational aria!!

"Who's that pretty girl in the mirror there?

What mirror, where?

Who could that attractive girl be?

Which, what, where, who, who, who, who?"

1971 to 1978? OR 1989 to 2003? OR All?

In my heart and mind, Columbo only existed 1971 to 1978.  He then retired to Lake Como, but returned to Los Angeles to consult/investigate on three cases (IMO, only three interesting viable episodes during the latter years).

That’s how I choose to see it.  LOL!!  How about you?

Good Grief, Indeed!

One of the great scenes in this magnificent episode!

"What is it that you feel . . . looooove

That fear which you conceal . . . looooove

That powers that you heal . . . looooove

Reveeeeeal . . . take me in your ARRRRRRMS!"

Boarding Groups – Which Side Do You Fall On?

Now that we are well into the “new” Southwest boarding system – what is your opinion of boarding groups?

  • I prefer an early boarding group because (fill in the blank).
  • I prefer a later boarding group because (fill in the blank).
  • I have no preference - my assigned seat will be there no matter when I board.
