How appeal period works for Asian Games
According to Article 11 of the KeSPA National Team Selection and Operation Regulations, the appeal window is designed to maintain transparency and address procedural or data-driven errors. Objections cannot just be "I think Player X is better than Player Y"—they must fall into specific categories, backed by clear evidence.
The primary types of objections that can be submitted include:
- Data and Metric Discrepancies
Since KeSPA uses detailed individual position-specific metrics spanning a two-year window (including LCK splits, international tournaments, and the KeSPA Cup), a team or player can appeal if they believe the raw data used during the selection committee's evaluation was inaccurate or miscalculated.
So , On Data and Metric Discrepancies: KeSPA has already stated that they conducted a highly detailed metric evaluation for the players. The chances of them making a mathematical mistake are incredibly low, and an objection cannot simply be used to demand a change in how they weight those metrics. Therefore, using this as a ground for objection is highly unrealistic.
- Violations of the Selection Procedure
Objections can be raised if there is evidence that the Performance Improvement Committee or its subcommittees did not follow KeSPA’s official, written selection guidelines. For instance, if mandatory steps—such as the individual interview process to confirm a player's genuine willingness to participate—were bypassed or improperly conducted.
On Procedural Violations: There is a very slim chance for an objection here. It is highly unlikely that the committee would completely fail to confirm a player's willingness to participate.
- Subjective Bias or Unfairness in Deliberation
If a team can prove that the committee's decision relied on arbitrary, unweighted factors rather than the predefined selection criteria, an objection can be filed. This is particularly relevant given recent public pushback from LCK executives (like Gen.G's Arnold) arguing that raw mechanical stats naturally disadvantage flexible, low-resource players who sacrifice their own lanes for team utility.
On Bias and Unfairness: Proving subjective bias or unfairness in a legal or official capacity is nearly impossible. A team or player or coach cannot easily accuse KeSPA of bias without definitive, smoking-gun evidence, which rarely exists.
- Qualification and Disqualification Issues
An appeal can be made if a selected player possesses an unaddressed disqualifying factor, or if an eligible player was excluded based on an incorrect interpretation of eligibility rules. This includes breach of conduct policies, registration status issues, or failure to meet the minimum tournament participation thresholds over the two-year tracking period.
On Qualification Issues: There is practically zero chance of an objection succeeding here, as player eligibility and disciplinary records are thoroughly vetted beforehand.
Realistically, an opposing side can only try to argue the first point regarding metrics. However, KeSPA has already clarified their evaluation framework. Even if an objection is filed, KeSPA will likely just respond by stating that no mistakes were made and that their original decision stands. Based on this, it is very small chance to change KeSPA's final roster at this stage. The debate is essentially over.

Post Match Interview with Zeus after KT series
Q. Thoughts on the Streak Being Interrupted
Zeus : I think the situation of the streak being interrupted last year is very similar to this year's interruption. Although it happened during a very long winning streak, our competitive state itself has been gradually declining bit by bit compared to when we were playing well. Actually, there were quite a few matches before where we could have lost, and some were won thanks to the individual efforts of the players. There were many such matches. Today's loss is actually because our competitive state is gradually getting worse. Moving forward, taking today's defeat as a foundation, if we regroup our spirits and work together to improve our competitive state, I think there shouldn't be any major problems.
Week Schedule of HLE
