Need some help re magnets
I'm making resin jewelry consisting of two separate pieces that attach magnetically.
One piece has an embedded 10 × 3 mm N52 neodymium magnet. The other piece has a 10 × 2 mm N52 magnet. The magnets are N52 to make ensure the pieces don't come apart so a weaker magnet won't work.
After the two pieces stay attached for awhile, the thinner piece leaves a visible circular mark on the other resin surface. The surface still feels perfectly smooth, but the mark is visible in certain lighting. I have only tested it with the 2mm magnet exposed. The resin was allowed to cure 7+ days.
I've attached two photos. One showing the visible mark and the other image is showing the 2mm magnet attached.
Would it still leave a mark if the mating piece is completely encapsulated in cured epoxy resin (no exposed magnet)? Any suggestions for preventing it?
