We are traveling from the US to Europe, and have a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt, DE to Sarajevo, BA (and back). For the US portion of our trip, we are able to use a travel backpack as our "personal item" that fits under the seat at 17x10x9inches. I've noticed the size on Lufthansa's site is much thinner for allowed personal items.

Has anyone come across this as an issue, and what was your experience? I would normally just throw this in the overhead compartment on the Lufthansa flight but am already traveling with a "carry-on" sized luggage as well.
