My Steam download speeds are way slower on Linux compared to CachyOS and Windows 11

I have been on Linux since January. I did a full swap and I'm very satisfied. I started with CachyOS, which has been great but I was unable to maintain it, so I hopped to Nobara.

Seems like everything works as intended and I'm very satisfied, but one thing I can't get to work is Steam. I feel like my internet is slower in general. I have internet connection via optical fiber and I'm on a 8 Gb/s deal, which is the highest tier available in my country.

My Steam's speeds on CachyOS were between 600 to 800 Mb/s, but right now I'm stuck at ~70 Mb/s, which makes me wait over 2 hours to download a 55 GB game. I am fiddling with mods very often, so re-downloading games is a must for me. It took around ~15 minutes to download that game before.

Where do I troubleshoot? What happened between one distro hop?

I want to use Tambourine Music Player or Tauon Music Box but I don't know how

Mega noob here, please be kind.

I have already tried Tambourine and it's great but due to it being a flatpak, I can't play any music outside of the /home directory. Tauon is only available as an Arch repo.

Is there any way to get them on Nobara?

Keychron Launcher is not working on Linux

I am using Brave (other browsers didn't work as well) and it just does not see my keyboard. I don't have Windows to test it anywhere else. Unfortunately, it's a web-only launcher, so I'd love to fix it if possible

Is it normal for a music player to only play files from /home/user/Music directory?

I have downloaded Tambourine Music Player because it looks gorgerous, but I am unable to play any .mp3 files I have in different folders. I can't set it as a default app, because .mp3 files in other directories would be set to launch Tambourine as well, and it just shows a blank page.

Issues with reconnecting a Bluetooth device after it auto-sleeps

The first time I launch my PC it's perfect. Just one keystroke makes my Keychron K2 (K2C3H) launch and I can instantly type in my password without any input lag.

I have my sleep auto timer set to 10 minutes (to preserve battery life, of course). What happens after these 10 minutes pass? All kind of jokes. I can't reconnect my keyboard (automatically or manually in the Bluetooth GUI), it doesn't pair with my PC, there's a huge input lag when it finally connects, and sometimes it disconnects in the middle of typing.

I don't know what to do anymore. Turning the keyboard off and on doesn't fix the issue. The keyboard works flawlessly until it has to be reconnected the second time. Without sleep auto timer it can work for hours with no issues. I just cannot connect it again during one PC session.

Turning off the PC and turning it back on of course works, if that somehow helps.

I'm on Firefox. Which browser should I use to access a website that requires one of these browsers? Without using one of these three, that is

Mega noob here, please be kind.

I just can't get Rockstar Launcher to work. I want to install Grand Theft Auto V, but it's just impossible to start the download or even log in. The biggest issue is that I bought it there, not through Steam or Epic.

It looks almost identical to CounterAttack: Uprising. I am 100% sure there we underwater levels and a big enemy at the end. I think the start was somewhere in space and you could lift people up. Upgrades were definitely available. It was pretty generic, but somehow it stuck with me for almost 20 years.

I'm trying to use a program that requires a lot of packages. I think I'm not missing any, but the program just won't start.

I think these are all the required prerequisites and I have installed them all:

  • ca-certificates (standard trusted SSL certificates to make HTTPS connections)
  • libc6 (libc)
  • libgcc-s1 (libgcc1, libgcc)
  • libicu (icu-libs, latest version for your distribution, for example libicu76)
  • libgssapi-krb5-2 (libkrb5-3, krb5-libs)
  • libssl3 (libssl, openssl-libs, latest version for your distribution, at least 1.1.X)
  • libstdc++6 (libstdc++, in version 5.0 or higher)
  • zlib1g (zlib)

The second screenshots says that controlling mouse, keyboard and screen sharing allowed without prompt is enabled.
