Contaminated jar?

There's a weird blue/green tint to the mycelium in this jar. I just inoculated the grain on 8/6, and it seems like it's colonizing way too quickly. I'm worried. Can anyone confirm whether or not it's contaminated?

Updated psilocybin tests for FOTG's fruits

Alright, all. Seems like there was some community interest in this photometer device. Here's where I got it:

https://uswebshop.miraculix-lab.com/

Unfortunately, there was a discrepancy between the amount of dried fruit to be sampled in the written instructions included with the device (50mg) and the amount that the website's FAQ instructed (150mg). So, I'm grateful to u/Panaeolus-the-Blue for challenging the accuracy of the device, or I may never have realized I was using a third of what was actually needed.

With that said, on to the main reason for posting again. Unsurprisingly, there were hugely different psilocybin numbers using the proper sample size of 150mg.

My Jack Frost (from a locally sourced liquid culture): 14.22 mg of psilocybin per g of dried fruit

u/Fruit0ftheg0ds' Legacy: 20.92 mg of psilocybin per g of dried fruit

u/Fruit0ftheg0ds' Albino Smokey Da Ghost: 24.74 mg of psilocybin per g of dried fruit

So now the mystery has been solved. And those numbers are insaaaaaaaaane. Genetics make all the difference, and FOTG has put in the work.

Psilocybin content in Legacy and Albino Smokey Da Ghost

I made a big order of agar plates from u/Fruit0ftheg0ds last week, and he included a couple of fruit samples for me and asked me to test them for psilocybin content

Today, I broke out my photometer and put them to the test! I've only run 5 tests on this thing, but these were the highest results I've seen so far.

Legacy: 5.69 mg of psilocybin per dried gram of fruit

ASDG: 7.80 (!!) mg of psilocybin per dried gram of fruit

For reference, the Jack Frost I grew in my first tub was 1.41mg/g, which is respectable and plenty for my purposes. But the Legacy was 4x that, and ASDG over 5.5x the content of my mushrooms! Craaaaazy.

Genetics clearly matter a great deal!

White fuzz update

Well, I know the group consensus yesterday was my white fuzz was mycelium, but I think it was contaminated all along. Here's what it looks like this morning. I'm going to bury it. Hopefully it didn't take hold in any of my grain jars or other tubs.

Stunning Agar Plates

I ordered a few new plates from u/fruit0ftheg0ds and received them today. They're gorgeous, so I thought I should leave a note of thanks on the sub.

Dude crushes it with the genetics, and I can't thank him enough for the big step up from the plates I made. I'm just beginning my agar journey, and I feel like I got a huge boost. Thanks, man! I'm always in awe of your work.

This white fuzz came in way too fast to be anything good.

This GT tub is cooked, right? I cracked the lid two days ago, and it looks contaminated already. Can you confirm?

Is this agar contaminated?

I've got healthy looking white mycelium on a few plates, but these ones look a little brownish. Are they contaminated? How to proceed?

Second Flush Side Pins

Hey all! This community is great! I've learned so much by reading your posts, and found some good information on my searches, but I thought I should ask the hive for ideas on how I can "fix" this issue.

This is my first attempt at growing mushies, and I'm already really enjoying the hobby. This Jack Frost bin gave me around 33g dried in the first flush, but the growth was pretty much all on one side of the bin. Now I've got a second flush popping up, but it's almost all side pins.

This is in a smaller tub within a North Spore monotub. I've got the humidity automated to stay between 80 and 90% at all times. I haven't been misting in addition to that humidifier. Should I?

Any helpful comments would be very appreciated!
