We’re visiting Adiyogi Temple on the morning of 23rd August and plan to leave the temple around 11:00 AM.

We need to reach Coonoor from Adiyogi Temple. What are the available travel options at that time?

Direct bus, if available

Bus via Gandhipuram/Coimbatore

Shared cab/taxi options

Any other affordable option

We are 4 people, so we’d also like to know the approximate cost and travel time for each option.

Any advice from locals or people who have travelled this route would be really helpful.

Need help optimizing my Ooty + Coonoor itinerary (23–26 Aug)

Hi everyone! I'm visiting Ooty/Coonoor with family and would really appreciate some local advice on which places are must-visit and which ones I can skip

Our fixed plan is:

📍 23 Aug – Isha Temple → Coonoor

* Reach Isha Temple in the morning

* Spend some time there

* Leave for Coonoor

* Check-in/stay in Coonoor

📍 24 Aug – Full day in Coonoor

Thinking of covering:

* Sims Park

* Lamb's Rock

* Dolphin's Nose

* Tea estate / tea factory

* Catherine Falls (if practical)

* Any good scenic viewpoints on the way

Which of these are actually worth visiting, and which can be skipped?

🚂 25 Aug – Coonoor → Ooty by Toy Train

We have a 7:45 AM Toy Train from Coonoor to Ooty**, so this is fixed.

After reaching Ooty, we have the rest of the day.

* Tea Factory / Tea Museum

* Botanical Garden

* Rose Garden

* Ketti Valley View

* Ooty Lake

* Thread Garden

* Sunset viewpoint

📍 26 Aug – Ooty

We have time until around 5 PM

Thinking of doing the remaining important places, possibly:

* Avalanche Lake

* Emerald Lake

* Pykara

* Pine Forest

* Shooting Point

* Wenlock Downs

* Any other scenic/photo-worthy places

What I need advice on

Since we have limited time, what would you recommend as the best combination

1. Which places are absolute must-visits?

2. Which places are overrated and can be skipped?

3. Should we prioritize Avalanche/Emerald/Pykara over the usual Ooty tourist spots?

4. Which places are best for scenic photography/family photos?

5. Is there anything I should definitely add to this itinerary?

6. What would be the most efficient order to visit these places so we don't waste time travelling back and forth?

Our priority is scenery, viewpoints, tea estates, nature and good photos, rather than amusement parks or shopping.

Would really appreciate a suggested 23 Aug morning → 26 Aug 5 PM itinerary from people who know Ooty/Coonoor well. 🙏
