Making something out of nothing

Is the saying “you have to spend money to make money” actually true? Can you share some cost‑effective ways you managed to build something from nothing? Many entrepreneurs start without savings or upfront capital. Should a person wait until they have something saved before starting a business? What free tools helped you launch and maintain your business until you began seeing a return on investment?

Are women really over-mentored and under-sponsored?

I came across a post recently that said women are over‑mentored and under‑sponsored, and it really stuck with me. That’s actually what re-inspired me to continue working on a project for women founders. I wanted a space that brings everything together: mentorship, a directory of women‑owned businesses, a spotlight for founders, bartering and sponsorship opportunities, a way to connect with co‑founders based on your idea or industry, you’ll be able to track your progress together, schedule weekly check‑ins, and follow a shared step‑by‑step blueprint for building your business from the ground up. I’m also pulling in grants, help with grant writing, funding opportunities, and other tools I wish I had when I started. I’m still building it, but once it’s ready, I’d love to share it with this community not as a pitch, but because I genuinely want it to be shaped by women who are actually out here doing the work. I’d also love to highlight some of your businesses in the directory. If you’re open to it, share what you’re building, the problem it solves, and the story behind why you started. I think we learn so much from each other’s journeys.

Lack of Support when starting a business

You ever spend months sometimes years on an idea or solution to a problem and you're going back and forth in your head on if you should launch it, should you share it, how you should market it and get the word out, if anyone will see the value in it....and you go back and forth until one day you just share it....and you get crickets.... lol! No likes, no interest, no applauding, silence. That is so discouraging. It seemed like a good idea on paper, in my head, even when I tested it.... I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and have put 100% in other people's vision, mission and companies since 16....so thought turning that energy into my own vision and company will bring more fulfillment. Has anyone ever felt this way? How did you overcome it? I'm launching an app for women and moms who are building, rebuilding while keeping their own health and wellness in the forefront and I need a few beta users to test the features before I launch. Interested in helping me out?

Father's Day

Hey Moms, I was having this conversation with a colleague the other day about single moms wishing their children's dads a happy Father's Day if they are not really present in their lives. How are you feeling about Father's Day. It always brings mixed emotions for me since I've lost my dad at 3 and don't have the healthiest relationships with the fathers of my two sons, I'm grateful they helped bring my sons into the world but feel a certain way about not helping me raise them. What are your thoughts?

Financial Trauma / Your Money Story

How has your childhood shaped your relationship with money? What was the conversation surrounding money in your household and do you see that story showing up in how you manage money today as an adult?

women founders

Women entrepreneurs:

What's currently the hardest part of balancing:

• Growing your business
• Personal wellness
• Family responsibilities
• Finances

I'm researching how founders manage all four areas and I'm curious what systems or tools people are actually using today.

What's working well, and what's still frustrating? All feedback will be helpful. Thank you in advance.
