My first truly successful soft plastic lure! Tried making something uniquely for Crappie, but I'm not mad at the results

Hey there! With the warm weather coming in, I've been trying to catch Crappie in some fairly pressured waters. With this, I started to design a few soft plastic molds that I could use that the local pond fish haven't seen around, or that just looks a little different.

I've not really found many beetle soft plastics except in smaller panfish fishing kits, so I decided to make one that I could cast at home. I also wanted to add some Crappie Nibbles for scent, so I modeled a cavity insert that can be used to create a hollow opening in the beetle for up to two Crappie Nibbles, or a small portion of other scented fish dough.

While the circumstances around why these are at a thrift shop are unfortunate, I'm glad these ended up in my hands.

Going to swap the old hooks and rebuild one of the spinners since it's bent. These are all going to see use, including the Jitterbug
