even worth leveling melee attack on this bro it will be 77 with gifted. and his fatigue is too low to be a battleforge tank. it there. nimble tank? if that's even a thing

I see people always talking about axes for fatigue neutral I just got this guy but his melee isn´t that high will be 81 with gifted (if only no brute) so I think he is going to need to use a two handed sword for that plus 5 hit chance just don't know how viable that would be on a fatigue neutral

I had just hired a poacher who turned out to be pretty good so wasnt sure if I should hire him I also didn't have that much money always gamble boys. I guess I should just turn him into a thrower archer that the most optimal?

The title speaks for itself. I’ve played this game for many hours, but I’ve never really paid much attention to how the battles work. I’m planning to start a new campaign on Very Hard difficulty, and this time I’d like to properly understand the battle mechanics so I can optimize my armies and min-max them a little.

How do battles work exactly? What are the most important mechanics to understand, and how do different troop types perform against each other?

I’m also interested in knowing which units are generally the most effective. For example, how useful are heavy infantry, pikemen, cavalry, horse archers, and other troop types? Are there certain unit combinations that work particularly well, or are some troop types simply stronger or more cost effective than others?

Finally, how should an army be deployed? How many troops should be placed on each flank, and how many should be kept in the center? Is it better to create a strong central formation, reinforce one flank, or spread the army evenly.
