Medium term player here, 350 ish hours, 3 plays made it through the first crisis, all DLC, and recent convert tp Reforged.

I love this game, i love reforged, i hate dagger cheese so i use battlefield cleanup mod for that and for realism.

That being said, i loathe the start. New game, shit bros, restart, shit map, restart, shit bros and map, restart, and so on. Finally get one worth starting, and then i really struggle mentally with the early game. Once i get to tier 2 weapons and raider gear the game comes alive for me. But throwing fodder bros at axes and spears, kmowing im wasting xp and money and time on them is tough for me mentally.

Any ideas on how i can overcome the early game malaise? Once i have a roster of at least 5 or 6 usable bros im off and racing, but getting there is rough. Any advice welcome. (Btw i love gladiator, poacher, lone wolf, northern raiders and standard starts usually cos they start with decent bros but open to anything)

looking for help with the game ( which I love )

especially around the early game.

mostly just use the standard new company origin or sometimes the trader origin.

typically play on veteran/veteran/high.

looking for tips on;

trade

builds

getting better gear

best contracts to take etc

this game is hard but addictive.

A couple of minor game changes I were considering as a mod to get my feet wet, and I thought it would be fun to toss it to the group for more ideas.

When brothers die, a battlefield marker appears but has event options when interacted with. Options for dig a mass grave, erect a gravestone, build a monument. With equivalent penalties for time and resources for more elaborate structurs. The upside would be a fraction of a point of daily renown per level of entombed brother. Perhaps penalties for not burying a group of brothers in the way of fallen heros and friends. Additionally there would be markers on the map signifying where brothers fell. I haven't figured out how to handle arena deaths and the like but maybe a plot outside of town.

Additionally, being able to give a tavern a named item to put over their bar for similar fractional daily renown would be a good way to hang onto named items you don't need and a fun RP element.

Sooo ive got some kind of luxury problem:

I’ve got 2 cleavers with the following stats and I can’t decide which one to use (both 2handed)

Cleaver 1
76 - 101 damage
35% armor pen
-2 fat

Cleaver 2
60-80 damage
50% amor pen

What would be the better choice in most use cases?

Struggling to finish bros. May post a couple here. I still don't fully appreciate when to go nimble over battle forged. I understand brawny is not considered a good choice. I understand that quick hands steel brow and fortified mind are generally considered \"better\"

I mean talk about option paralysis right? How would you go about building this guy?

So I want to start a new lone wolf run where my main goal would be to upgrade my lone wolf bro as much as I can. So far, here's what I know:
- Gifted perk, than clear it with Potion of Oblivion
- Censer of the Diviner from Artifact Reliquary
- The Emperor's Armor from Black Monolith
- Take two perks from Black Book
- Arena 12 victories
What else I can do?
