I told my class that homework is educationally pointless and they should spend more time with their families. A parent reported me.

I told my students that homework is largely educational theatre designed to make parents feel like learning is happening. I suggested they'd be better off spending that time talking to their families, reading for pleasure, or going outside. A parent reported me to the principal and now the principal has given me a verbal warning.

How should I proceed?

I've explained to Etoro support I needed to withdraw my funds for a medical emergency. I had no prompt support.

I have explained several times I can't receive SMS or phone calls via my number - a number which has been connected to the account for several years and they've been more than happy to accept when I deposit my money.
They have ignored requests to provide a number to call them on and speak to a human and spent days with 24 hours between messages during a medical emergency.

These people are beyond contempt. DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY WITH THESE EVIL EVIL PEOPLE.

I've communicated through several channels that I can't recieve an SMS or phone call and they send me this in response? Do they think people who trade can't read? Do they even care? What a disrespectful response.

LET ME CALL YOU ETORO STAFF!!!! This could be a five minute fix by phone call. UNBELIEVABLE!

"Following a review of the screenshots provided in consultation with our Technical Department, we can confirm that the error occurred due to multiple 2FA code requests being made within a short period of time.

Please note that there is a limit to the number of verification codes that can be requested consecutively. Once this limit is exceeded, the system will temporarily restrict further requests, as reflected in the error shown in your screenshots.

In order to resolve this, we kindly ask that you wait 24 hours before attempting to request another verification code. In most cases, this allows the temporary restriction to reset successfully.

We would also like to take this opportunity to highlight an alternative verification method available during the 2FA process. When requesting a verification code, you should see a “Resend Code” option beneath the code entry field. By selecting this option, you will also have the ability to choose “Phone Call Instead.”

This option will generate an automated phone call providing a 5-digit verification code, which can then be entered into the platform. In many cases, this successfully resolves the issue.

If the phone call option is unsuccessful, our experience shows that requesting the SMS code again after the 24-hour waiting period is often successful.

In addition, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Ensure your device has the latest software updates installed;
  • Confirm that no applications are blocking or filtering incoming SMS messages;
  • Restart your device to refresh its connection to the local network provider;
  • Test message delivery again after restarting the device;
  • Test the same SIM card in another mobile device, or alternatively test another SIM card in your current device;
  • Contact your mobile provider to confirm that SMS messages from our service are not being blocked.

Additionally, you may also consider enabling push notifications as an alternative authentication method.

Should the issue persist after the 24-hour period, we kindly ask that you provide updated screenshots or any further error messages so we may continue investigating the matter further."

I sent an email to Etoro requesting urgent help in an emergency. They told me my case was escalated and it still took them 24 hours to reply.

They ignored the point that I'm not receiving SMS texts to just say log in and gave me advice on withdrawing funds.

For example

"If you are facing any difficulties with withdrawing your funds from your eToro Money account, you may refer to the below steps:

  1. On the eToro platform, go to the Wallet tab. 
  2. In the web version of eToro, click Wallet in the sidebar menu.
  3. In the eToro mobile app, tap Wallet at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Select the GBP or EUR or AUD account.
  5. Click Send Payment.
  6. Choose the recipient, or click Add Payee to add the details of a new recipient.
  7. Enter the amount.
  8. Enter the reference (a note explaining what the payment is for).
  9. Review the details and click Confirm Payment."

What an awful company with zero heart.

I have a horrible feeling I'm never getting my money back. I'm starting to feel robbed and gaslit.

Does anyone know of anyway to have them release funds? I want my money and to close my account and never have any association with this app again. It's nearly ruined a life.

I tried to withdraw all of my money last night but the platform wouldn’t send me an SMS to verify my transaction. It then kicked me off the platform when I tried to check my phone number by changing it and wouldn’t let me get back into my account even though my details are correct - having been with Etoro for several years.

How can they treat someone like this who’s done everything right but their platform has broken?

I couldn’t access the live chat support without the SMS. Why is there no available avenue when this system error happens? I verified my identity, used the same login details and email etc.

Now my friend is probably going to lose their leg as I’m in a country where doctors wouldn’t help until they receive money.

I’m utterly disgusted with Etoro and demand they give me my money so I can never give them my business again.

What an evil evil company.

I tried to withdraw funds then it asked me to verify by text ... but I can't receive the text.

It kicked me out the app and I tried logging in on desktop but couldn't access chat support ... because I can't receieve SMs.

I've opened a ticket saying I can't log in and that I'll receive a response in 2 business days. They email me to a link showing useless advice like making sure I'm connected to a network and that they consider the matter solved. I replied saying no it isn't and to please help and now I have no idea when I'll hear from them.

Horrendous and stressful support. No possible chance to even call to speak to a human in a situation like this.

I needed this money instantly due to my friend dealing with a severe hospital situation. It could lead to my friend permanently losing a limb.

If anyone from Etoro staff can see please help me immediately!!!!

What disgusting support to a long time user of Etoro. Once I get my money out I'll never trade with them again!
