TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro as WireGuard client for remote LAN access and Wake-on-LAN?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying the TP-Link Archer AX55 Pro and I have a question about using it as a WireGuard client.

Current setup:

  • I already have a WireGuard server running at my father’s house.
  • At my own house, I would install the AX55 Pro.
  • I want the AX55 Pro to connect as a WireGuard client to that remote server and keep the tunnel always connected.

My goal:
When I’m away from home (for example at my father’s house or on mobile data), I want to access my home LAN remotely through the WireGuard tunnel and send Wake-on-LAN (WoL) packets to wake up PCs inside my network.

Questions:

  1. Does the AX55 Pro work reliably as a WireGuard client in this scenario?
  2. Can devices from the remote side access the home LAN correctly through the tunnel?
  3. Has anyone successfully used Wake-on-LAN through this setup?
  4. Does the router properly forward WoL/broadcast packets to the LAN?

Thanks!

VLC audio stutters and glitches during heavy project compilation unless I set process priority to "Above normal"

Audio in VLC becomes robotic/stuttery while compiling large programming projects.

Setting VLC priority to "Above normal" fixes it, but Windows does not remember the setting after restart.

Looking for a better permanent solution.

Can Thunderbird for Android automatically remove notifications for emails already read on PC?

I'm using Thunderbird on Windows and Thunderbird for Android with an IMAP account.

My question is:
if I open an email on my PC and it gets marked as read, is there a way for Thunderbird on Android to automatically dismiss the corresponding notification?

In my case, the email sometimes does appear as read on the phone, but the notification stays there until I open the app or manually sync.

Is this a current limitation of Thunderbird for Android, or is there some setting that improves notification syncing?
