Need recommendations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee spots, and things to do in Montreal

Hello, I will be visiting Montreal from next Wednesday night to Sunday afternoon. Can you provide recommendations for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee spots and also things to do? I can’t eat certain shellfish or nuts. I will be staying near Rue Saint Jacques. Thanks!

Medical accommodation

I have UC and requested a full-time work-from-home accommodation. My doctor submitted the necessary documentation to HR. HR initially offered a modified schedule where I could work half the day in the office and half from home, plus two additional work-from-home days per month. However, they later clarified that the modified schedule would only be available during flare-ups. I explained that this wouldn’t meet my needs and asked if I could use the modified schedule every time I’m required to be in the office, not only during flares. I’m concerned they may deny that request, which would be very frustrating. What happens if they deny it? I am looking for a remote job but it’s challenging in this job market.

Everything is getting more and more expensive

I can’t believe how expensive life is. I work a full time job and a side hustle and I will never be able to afford to rent or buy here alone, specifically in NJ. I probably won’t be having kids because of this. I just feel so depressed over life. I would’ve never imagined at 30 that this would be the life for me and so many others. Even moving to another state is still expensive. Finding a new job for more money is incredibly tough given the job market. I love living at home with my mom and dog but I just wish I could afford the American dream! I am investing in the stock market, I just feel stuck.

For context, I’ve been with my boyfriend for almost 2 years. Early on, I said I wanted kids, but looking back, I don’t think I fully thought it through.

A few days ago, we had a serious conversation about it, and I started listing my fears—childbirth, postpartum, having a child with disabilities, etc. He told me that if I don’t want kids, I should let him know sooner rather than later. I told him I do want them, but that I was just sharing my fears.

The problem is, the more I think about it, the more unsure I feel. I don’t know if I truly want kids or if I just assumed I did.

I know that if I told him I’m on the fence, we would likely break up because he 100% wants them. That would devastate me, but I’d understand. I would never have a child just to stay in a relationship.

I’m also scared to bring this up because I feel like it could end things, even though I know I need to be honest soon. I’m starting therapy next week to try to work through this. I also struggle with anxiety and tend to think in worst-case scenarios, which makes this even harder to sort out.

Has anyone been in a similar situation?
