Where to watch Mexico vs England in Montreal?
Hello! I’m visiting Montreal and staying in Golden Square Mile. Would love to watch the Mexico England game tonight somewhere and cheer on Mexico and get some food. Thank you in advance!

I'm originally from Toronto, an anglophone, and will be moving to Montreal in August (currently trying to learn French, but I still have a long way to go)! As a brown woman and person of color in Toronto, I've had an overall good experience finding attractive and educated men looking for long-term/serious relationships and people who are equally attracted to me as its a pretty racially diverse place with lots of interracial couples, but I'm wondering how it is like in Montreal?
From what little I've seen thus far (a.k.a. setting my Hinge location to Montreal), most men I've seen so far all say they like blonde/brunette white/French women on their profile (understandable given general population/culture), so I wanted to ask how others have found the interracial dating scene specifically? And maybe any advice on what to look for to not waste time on people who wouldn't inherently like me given race/where to go to find different types of men interested in various hobbies/education/etc...?
Another reason I ask is that I've spent a few years in Ottawa, and it is quite hard to date as a POC there (in my experience and in comparison to Toronto/Waterloo). So, I wonder, with its proximity to Ottawa and influx of usually European immigrants, if Montreal is similar?
*Note: I also worry because, while I am trying to learn French, I'm very new to the language, so that probably doesn't help in the dating world, lol
Thanks for any imput/advice!
My partner and I are planning a trip from July 30th to August 3rd, and I had a fun idea to book a photo session for us! I looked through Airbnb Services, but I thought I’d ask here too.
Here are a few things I’m hoping to find:
- gay-friendly (we’re a male couple in our 40s).
- A one-hour session, either digital or film. A studio would be great, but I’m okay with doing it at a physical location too. I know booking a studio photoshoot as a tourist might seem a bit strange, but I’m also a little uncomfortable with public attention, haha.
- Maybe one outfit change (yes, we’ll be dressed, not looking for a nude photo session).
- Photos of us alone and as a couple.
- No real theme. I’m just trying to capture who we are in our 40s. Also, I’m looking for some unique experiences with my partner that we don’t usually do when we travel.
Please feel free to send a link to a portfolio and payment and rate details either through commenting here or a DM. Thank you!
Hi, I'm visiting Montreal during Osheaga weekend (but not attending Osheaga lol) and was wondering is the other tourist parts of Parc Jean Drapeau will be open to the public? I'm a bit confused as I'm not seeing much online but I'm hoping to walk around the park, see the sculptures, do some paddleboarding, hiking, etc. Would this be possible during the festival or would it be too crowded? I'm hoping to go right when it opens if that helps. Any insights would be appeciated!!

Hi there!
I am driving to Montreal this weekend from NYC to get away with my fianceè.
Any tips? It's her first time.
We'd like to do touristy things maybe check out a cool club or bar, some restaurants , etc.
I remember going to this small basement club with red laser lights from the ceiling, and I had a blast there. Does anyone remember the name of that club?
Thanks!
Bonjour!
I’m curious about how safe the transit is here, thinking of taking the train when I fly home Wednesday due to terrible uber issues at the airport currently. (Can follow up if anyone is curious)
However I’m not sure how safe it’ll be for a young woman, alone with my luggage. Anyone know?
Thanks so much in advance!
Merci Beaucoup!
Bonjour! My sister and I are visiting Montreal soon - does anyone have any recommendations for great pancake places, or great vegetarian spots? We are staying in the Plateau if that makes any difference!

Hello, I'm driving to Montreal for a conference next month and am wondering about parking options near the Convention Center or University of Quebec-Montreal. Ideally, I'm looking for multi-day/overnight options so I can just leave the car somewhere for the duration of my stay (5 days). I see that there are garages that offer daily rates but how exactly does that work? Can you really just leave a car for several days and then just pay the accumulated daily rates when you leave?
This text is just going to be me talking about what to be careful of, and what to avoid in Montreal.
Language: While most of the residents are bilingual, French is the official and primary language. It is considered respectful and kind to start a conversation with “Bonjour” before going to English.
Taxes and Tipping: Sales taxes are the same prices in Montreal as in Quebec (15%), but be aware that taxes are normally added to the prices on items pre-check-out. Tipping is customary and highly expected, so be ready to tip at least 15% or just don’t tip and be considered very disrespectful.
Transportation: NEVER use a car, nor a rental car, as parking is way too expensive and very difficult. On-street-parking is illegal, underground garage parking lots are overly priced, and the best choice is to get an Opus card, which costs 21.75$ each for a 3 day pass, but allows unlimited travel for 72 hours across almost every single public transport (other than planes).
Tourist-y restaurant traps: be careful around Old Montreal, as many of the restaurants are considered overpriced tourist traps that feel like a fancy restaurant but is just way to overpriced and make sure we find a good restaurant (we could find some off of reviews, etc.).
Be VERY careful on June 1st: It is Moving Day and streets block up with moving trucks and discarded furniture, so try minimizing our first day of the trip to just one location, as or else traffic is a nightmare.
Terrasse Seating Assumptions: Do not just sit down at an outdoor patio (terrasse). Always wait to be seated by a host, just like indoor dining.
Well, that’s all I have. Make sure to always be aware of all these tips and have a fun trip!
edit: its not june 1st its july 1st my bad and also i made a few mistakes im sorry for that ._.
Bonjour !
Merci d'avance.
I'm visiting Montreal for the first time this July and planning on using my AMEX hotel credit. If I'm picking between Hotel Omni Mont-Royal, Humaniti Hotel, Warwick Le Crystal, or Vogue Hotel Montreal Downtown. I'm hoping to look at pretty things, eat pastries and bread and wander around. Which hotel would folks recommend?
Bonjour Montrealers. Need some advice from you. I have been to Montreal a bunch of times before and have visited your incredible city but I am going back with some friends who are coming from the UK. We staying between Chinatown and Old Montreal. We are there from Thursday morning until Sunday at noon. I love to walk around Montreal and was thinking of taking them to see Old Montreal, Latin Quarter, Pier, The Plateau, Mont Royal/Kondiaronk Belvedere. Am I missing any other neighborhoods/attractions that are must see? We also plan to eat at St-Viateur bagel and a special dinner at Au Pied Du Cochon and maybe Schwatz Deli. Let me know your thoughts on that plan.
