Montreal Passport

Montreal Passport

Hello!

My partner and I are visiting next month and purchase the Montreal tourism passport. We plan to use it for the Biodome, but can see on the Biodome website reserving tickets in advance is recommended. Is it possible we show up on a Saturday with the passport and are unable to get in?

Thanks!

Does anywhere in Montreal sell Hawkins Cheezies???

We visited Toronto before we came here and it sounds like it would have been easier to buy them in Toronto BUT it’s too late for that! Does anyone know of anywhere that sells Hawkins Cheezies?? Checked IGA, Maxi, looked on Tigre Geant’s website… can’t…find…them…anywhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated. We’re flying out tomorrow evening but we’re going to run around and try to stock up on Smarties, various candy bars, some maple syrup if we can find the right kind of store, and hopefully some Cheezies! I’ll gladly take any suggestions on other stuff we should grab… thank you!!! My 2nd time visiting and I Love this city

3 days in Montreal

Hi everyone. Family of 4 (2 adults, 7 year old, and 9 year old.) Sunday-Wednesday. Arriving via train. First time here. Looking for food, activities, and hotel recommendations. My limited research shows we should stay at Château Champlain. Let me know if that’s a good place to stay.

Thank you!

Je veux manger un bon canelé. J’ai fait plusieurs boulangeries et pâtisseries à Montréal, mais je n’en ai toujours pas trouvé une qui vendait des canelés…. Merci

I'm seriously considering starting my own walking tour company of Montreal.

I'm proud to say that I was born here and have unmatched and intense passion for this city. I feel at home and safe here, unlike anywhere else in the world. Just wanted to have a slight idea of the overall popularity of experiencing an informative tour,, from a truly passionate Montrealer. (Personalised tours available upon request)

What to see/do?

My fiancé and I will be staying at a chalet in Saint-Come for our honeymoon and we ere thinking of staying Saturday night in Montreal so we can have Saturday and part of Sunday to explore Montreal, before heading home. (Towards Toronto)

Where do you recommend staying, and what should we do? Perhaps someplace to stay where we can leave our car and use public transit as we had issues with parking last time we visited. We visited the biodome a few years ago and might go back as we really liked it, would love to tour the Olympic space if open. I love a cute coffee shop and local stores. I’d say were pretty open, I feel like I haven’t seen many parts of Montreal.

Last time we were in Montreal was March 2024 and I swear it was -30 so really looking for any recommendations or spots where it would be good to walk and explore.

If you have other suggestions, rather than staying in Montreal we are open to any recommendations!

Thank you/Merci in advance!

Montreal + Manoir Hovey

Hi! Looking for a 4 night getaway from NJ for my birthday with my husband. We're thinking about 2 nights in Montreal (FS or Ritz) and then 2 nights at Manoir Hovey in late September.

We'd love to eat, drink, and shop our way through Montreal followed by some vineyards, spa time, and any cool fall activities.

I've heard Damas is a must eat at in Montreal but can we get some recs for food/drink/vineyards and activities?

We lived in NYC for 10 years before settling in coastal NJ so we're big foodies. Thank you so much!

Advice on Going to Montreal for a Habs Home Game?

Does anyone have any advice on how to budget a trip to Montreal and/or Ottawa?

I've only gone to Montreal to work and would love to go for hockey! I have a friend who lives in Ottawa so I'm considering staying there. I have another friend from Toronto who's interested in going to Montreal but I might have to do the whole trip solo.

I'm already going to see to the Habs in preseason in Toronto and in regular season in Buffalo and so I know I need to budget carefully to go to Montreal.

I know Habs for all is available once a month but I think that might make the cost of my transportation and stay too expensive. Any tips for how to budget this out? Thank you! 💙🤍♥️

feedback on my semi-solid Montréal visit plan

Question: is a side trip to Québec City a good idea? and a few other questions

Details: I've got a round trip flight booked to YUL-Montréal that will give me eleven nights to spend in Québec province, mid-September. I'm a solo grey-haired traveler. I have also booked the first four nights at a central Montréal hotel, from which I need to either check out or extend by Sunday morning.

I've got some ideas from this forum as to what i want to do in Montréal, no specific goal at this time. Is it a good idea to take a train to Québec City on Sunday for 3-4 nights, then return to Montréal for the last day or two before departure? Any expected problems with booking hotel rooms just a few nights in advance?

Visiting Montréal, nervous about French

Bonjour!

I will be visiting Montréal in a few days, and I’m nervous about my French speaking abilities. I’m in French immersion, and have been in it for about 10 ish years. People/teachers say I’m nearly fluent, but I still worry I’ll struggle. I know lots of people speak English, but I’d really like to try my best to speak in French. Any advice or tips to ease my anxiety is greatly appreciated!

Bachelorette looking for nightlife 18+

I am coming to Montreal in two weeks for my bachelorette, basically everyone in the party is 30+ except my younger sister who is 19, we didn’t think it would be an issue since the drinking age is 18 and we were very excited to go to Yoko Luna but saw it was 21+. Are there any similar night clubs that can be fun for a 30+ crowd while also allowing a 19 year old? Originally, because my fiancee and I are lesbians, we were looking for the gayborhood but we heard it’s a lot less lively and safe now than it used to be. Any advice is really appreciated!

Shopping advice (want to gift something to my wife)

Hi there !! I was visiting Montreal for work and will be leaving tomorrow evening. I’d like to get some lovely dresses for my wife as gift for her.

Ladies (or gents who have knowledge) can you suggest some good stores or brands from where I can buy? Not looking for the regular H&M, Zara, Dynamite and Laura dresses… something exquisite & beautiful without going crazy on the prices

Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Travel options from Ottawa to Vaudreuil?

I am going to Vaudreuil next Friday the 21st and am looking for a way to get there without having to first go into Montreal. I checked poparide, googlemaps, and Busbud but can't find anything. The VIA and exo is the only option so far but it seems to be 4-6 hours.

Any other options or places I can search?

7 hour layover

Hi guys, I am traveling from Milan to Toronto, and will have a 6h50 layover in Montreal (I arrive at 15.05 and depart for Toronto at 21.55). Do you think I would have enough time to hit the downtown area and visit for roughly 1h30? I have already done my anticipated CBSA declaration and already bought a ticket for the bus 747 on the Chrono app. I was planning to take my bus back to the airport at around 18,30, so that I would be back at the airport by 19/19.30 (assuming no rush our after 18.30). I would be very glad if you could answer me quickly since my flight is tomorrow :)

Looking for Local/Unique Children's Shopping

Hi there! I will be visiting with my family at the end of August and am hoping to find some cool kids stuff. I'm looking for local slow fashion, wooden toys, small shop brands, that kind of stuff. Independent boutiques and toy stores, and any can't miss children's consignment/thrift stores recommendations are helpful! Thanks!

29M Digital Nomad Looking to Meet People & Explore Montreal

Hey! 29M, digital nomad and currently travelling around while working remotely. I’m in Montreal for a few weeks and looking to connect with people to explore the city with.

Always down to work from different cafes or check out new spots during the day. Also up for anything from very chill hangs, walks, food and drinks to exploring different neighbourhoods, events, nightlife, or whatever else the city has going on.

I’m using this time to get a feel for Montreal and see if I could picture myself living here longer term.

Currently based around Parc La Fontaine, but happy to travel around the city.

If you’re also looking to meet new people or explore Montreal, feel free to reach out!
