Eurasian bullfinch borb
Just finished making this little Eurasian Bullfinch and tried to pack in as much maximum rotund energy as possible!
Blackborb
He turned out a lot rounder than I originally planned, which makes him the perfect borb.
Goldbirb
I’ve always admired their vibrant colors and wanted to try capturing that in a piece. Hope you enjoy this little wooden birb as much as I enjoyed making it! 🎨✨
Cactus Wren borb 🌵
Just finished making this piece. What do we think, is the sphere-ness on point?
A very round Bearded Reedling🐦🔴
Thought this little borb would fit right in here! It’s completely hand-carved from basswood and painted with acrylics. Look at that spherical perfection!

Hand-carved and painted wooden Hermit Thrush 🐦
Hey everyone! I wanted to share my latest piece. I really enjoyed trying to capture the distinct spotted breast and curious expression of the Hermit Thrush on this one.
Hand-painted a little Lark Bunting songbird out of basswood. Really happy with how the whittled facets catch the light!
For anyone curious about the painting process: I used thin layers of matte acrylics for this. The biggest challenge with whittled pieces is making sure the paint doesn't pool in the carved ridges or hide the knife marks. I try to keep the paint just opaque enough to show the bold black and white contrast of the Lark Bunting while still letting that crisp, faceted wood texture pop under the light!
KingParrotBirb
Just finished hand-carving and painting this little male Australian King Parrot!
Does my hand-painted wooden pelican meet the strict roundness requirements of r/borbs? 🤔
Just finished up the paint job on this guy! I really wanted to capture that maximum rotund energy for the sub. Hope you all enjoy this coastal borb!
Just finished hand-painting this little Western Meadowlark! 🌾💛
I tried my best to capture its bright yellow breast and distinct markings. Painted with acrylics on a wooden base. What do you think?
I made a little Muscovy Duck figurine!
He’s made from a block of basswood and painted with acrylics. I’ve always loved how weird and full of personality Muscovy ducks are with their bumpy red faces, so I really wanted to try capturing that look.
Painted a little bearded reedling borb today.🎨🐦
Just finished painting him today. Thought his round shape would fit perfectly here!
Found a little bird nesting in my plant today 🌿🐦
Decided to add this little clip-on bird ornament to keep my plant company. I think it fits perfectly! Does anyone else add tiny decorations to their indoor jungle?
A little wooden robin. Is he round enough for the club? 🐦
Hand-carved and hand-painted this little round robin! Original Content (OC) — hope you all like him.
A few colorful, hand-painted wooden borbs!
Spent some time custom-whittling these out of basswood and giving them a vibrant hand-painted finish. The gouldian finch inspired ones in the front turned out incredibly round. What do you think, do they qualify as true orbs?
Spent some time whittling this week. Here is my finished basswood bird!
I wanted to share this little figurine I just completed. It's fully hand-carved from basswood and painted using acrylic paints to bring out the details.
