How can I learn to sit still?
I am always eager to complete tasks so my future self will have less responsibility. Do the dishes now, take the trash out now, lay out clothes for tomorrow, etc.
I have a hard time resting.
How do you manage this?

I have a lot of stickers, craft supplies, and things of that sort. I don’t like using them because.. well then they’ll be gone.
I am trying to be better about this!
I have a fear of being without. I am trying to overcome it. I did not grow up in poverty, but my husband says I have a scarcity mindset as if I did.
My partner is the only one working, as I stay home with our little one and am in college full time(graduating soon).
We have a fully funded emergency fund, no debt, and are maxing out their 401k and both of our Roth IRAs.
What do we do with the money we have leftover each month?

I’m a nevermo, but I have questions 😬
2 adults, 1 child, and 1 cat.
Before having a child, our base bills were $3,250.
I guess now with a child and inflation, it has significantly increased.
We live in the southeast of the USA.
$5,550 includes every penny we spent this month. Expenses, base bills and essentials. There were nearly 70 transactions.
Then we send $1,250 to retirement.
So $6,750 leaves our accounts every month. 😵💫
Any excess money goes to savings in a CD.
We have no big plans, thankfully.
Probably just cleaning up our property, making meals with what is in the pantry, tending to the garden, and maybe finding a few things to sell or give away.
How about you?
It is so satisfying to see our home emptying (while our bank account grows as a result)
We are using things up! No more things unless absolutely necessary. Inspired by r/buynothing and the book simplicity parenting since I’m a new parent and strive for simplicity.
An additional motivator is that we may be moving in the near future and want to make the moving process easier with less. We also don’t want to take anything we don’t absolutely love or need.
We are also decluttering. I have been sorely disappointed in myself for holding on to things and them going bad, breaking, or never being used. It seems criminal!
I know simple living is likely how we should all be living - but alas, we do not.
Until now!
Our house feels so spacious, clean, and calm.
I have done this every year for a month or so, but then life passes us by and we fall into old routines.
Now, we have a child and I want less in my way every day. Less food in the fridge to choose from, less clutter, less cleaning.
It has been so wonderful! We are saving more money because we are not buying things. Just lots of hiking, walking, reading, and mindfulness.
Just curious what everyone will be up to 😋
We will be tending to the garden, budgeting, and resting! No big plans, thankfully.
