A birth certificate with place of birth is needed

Hi everyone, I’d appreciate some advice.
I had an appointment to submit my documents, and I’m Egyptian but was born in Saudi Arabia. I was asked to provide proof of my exact place of birth because my Egyptian birth certificate only states “born in Saudi Arabia” without specifying the city.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation or dealt with this issue before? If so, what document did you provide, and how did you obtain it?
Thanks in advance!

If you were starting your cybersecurity career today, which field would you choose?

I’m curious what people here would pick if they were starting from scratch today:

  • Application Security (AppSec)
  • DevSecOps
  • Cloud Security

Which one would you choose, and why?

let's discuss stuff like:

  • Job market and demand
  • Salary potential
  • Long-term career growth
  • How resistant the field is to AI/automation
  • Work-life balance / burnout
  • How difficult it is to break into
  • Whether you think the field will still be strong 5–10 years from now

Would you still choose the same field if you had to start over in 2026?

Einbürgerung appointment + layoff at the same time

I’m in a tricky situation and I’m trying to understand what it means for my naturalization.

Here is my situation:

• I have my **Einbürgerung appointment at the beggining of October 2026**. I have applied at the end of May 2025 .
• My employer just informed me that my position is being cut for **operational reasons (betriebsbedingt)**.
• Around **mid-September** I have to sign two things: an **Aufhebungsvertrag** with my current employer, and a **new contract with a Transfergesellschaft**.
• My current job runs until the end of 2026. From **January 2027** I will be in the **Transfergesellschaft for 12 months**.
• So I will still have a contract and income during that whole time.
• Only **after those 12 months**, if I have not found a new job, would I go to the Agentur für Arbeit for **ALG I**.
• As far as I know, the **Urkunde usually comes about one month after the interview**, so I would still be employed at my current company when I receive it.

The questions I’m trying to answer:

1️⃣ Does a betriebsbedingte Kündigung followed by a Transfergesellschaft affect a naturalization application, when the person is still under contract and paying into the system?

2️⃣ When exactly does the Einbürgerungsbehörde need to be informed? At the moment of signing in September, at the appointment in October, or only at the end of December when the current job actually ends — even though the Aufhebungsvertrag was signed months earlier?

3️⃣ Is signing an Aufhebungsvertrag before the appointment a problem, since it is technically a voluntary agreement even when the reason is operational?

4️⃣ How do the authorities generally view Transferkurzarbeitergeld and later ALG I, which come from unemployment insurance you have paid into, when it comes to the requirement of securing your own livelihood?

Thanks in advance 🙏

Which cybersec specialization is worth going deep on right now?

I moved from software development into security and I’m coming up on 3 years. Most of my work has been AppSec, DevSecOps, and cloud security like vulnerabilities detection, code review and threat modeling, securing CI/CD pipelines and IaC, IAM .
I want to specialize instead of staying broad, and I’m trying to pick based on three things: real market demand, room to grow, and work that doesn’t get boring after a year. Also which one would be the least stressful without on call for example.
For those of you further along: which direction would you go and has the best potential and future? Application/product security , cloud security or Devsecops.

Safest option for Einbürgerung after signing an Aufhebungsvertrag due to layoff?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently employed since beginning of 2024 and have been offered an Aufhebungsvertrag due to operational reasons.
I have two options:
Option 1: Sign now → employment ends September → Transfergesellschaft starts October.
Option 2: Sign now → remain employed until December → Transfergesellschaft starts January.
I expect my Einbürgerung appointment within the next 1–2 months.

My questions:
Does signing the Aufhebungsvertrag now already create an issue for Einbürgerung, even if I remain employed and paid until December?
Would Option 2 be safer than Option 1 because I would still be employed at the time of the appointment?
Does being in a Transfergesellschaft affect the Einbürgerung process, assuming I’m not receiving Bürgergeld/SGB II?
Do I need to report the signed Aufhebungsvertrag to the Einbürgerungsbehörde?

Which option would you consider the safest for the Einbürgerung, and why?

Thanks!

When am I required to inform the Einbürgerungsbehörde about an Aufhebungsvertrag?

Hi everyone,
I currently have an Aufhebungsvertrag with my employer, with a termination date specified in the agreement. However, I would like to postpone the termination date and therefore sign the agreement at a later date.
My question is: At what point am I required to inform the Einbürgerungsbehörde about this change?
Is the obligation to report the change triggered when I sign the Aufhebungsvertrag, or only when the employment relationship actually ends on the agreed termination date? Or even when I am in the process before signing.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has experience with the Einbürgerungsbehörde.
Thanks in advance!

Transfergesellschaft and Einbürgerung, could it affect my application?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently waiting for my Einbürgerung interview, but I’m about to be laid off and transferred to a Transfergesellschaft.

Could this affect my Einbürgerung process, especially if the Transfergesellschaft starts shortly before my interview?

Would I be considered employed or unemployed/job-seeking during this period?

Has anyone experienced Einbürgerung while being in a Transfergesellschaft?

Thanks!

Best padel backpack for office + court? (Professional looking, not too sporty)

I’m looking for a padel backpack that can double as an everyday office backpack.

My priorities are:
Laptop compartment
Insulated racket compartment
Comfortable to carry
Professional/minimal look (not overly sporty)
Good quality and durable

What are your favorite backpacks for both work and padel? Any recommendations or models I should check out? 🎾

Kuikma 40L pro backpack reviews

Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about buying the Kuikma Pro 40L Padel Backpack.
Most of the photos online are marketing pictures, so I’m wondering how it actually looks in real life.

A few questions for people who own it:
Does it look too bulky when you’re wearing it, especially if you’re around 170 cm (5’7”)?

Does it look like a typical sports bag, or is it understated enough to use for work or commuting?

Is the 40L capacity noticeable, or does the shape keep it looking relatively slim?
If you have photos of yourself wearing it (front, side, or back), I’d really appreciate seeing them.

I’m looking for something that can carry a laptop, work items, and a padel racket without looking oversized.
Thanks!

TFbank vs Gebührenfrei advanzia

Hallo zusammen,
