Are you putting your newborn in cute outfits?

My baby girl is 8 weeks old tomorrow and so far I’ve only had her in sleepers. For some reason I feel a little guilty that I’m not dressing her up all cute with bows, etc. She gets fussy when I’m changing her so I haven’t felt ready to put her in anything more complex but at the same time she’s been wearing the same clothes in all her pics and part of me feels bad about that.

Are you dressing your newborns in cute outfits yet?

What I actually used from my hospital bag

For baby:

- Lots of diapers & wipes (hospital didn’t provide)
- One single outfit for going home. Baby was otherwise swaddled the whole time. Doctors and nurses will be coming around frequently to check on baby so having them in clothes isn’t convenient.
- Pacifier
- Sound machine
- Egg light (lights in the room are very bright)
- Car seat of course

For me:

- Adult diapers
- Hair tie / clip
- Going home outfit (I didn’t end up wearing any PJs, was in the hospital gown the entire time)
- Prenatal vitamins
- Stroller fan (hooked it up to the bed)

For husband:

- Comfy clothes (sweatpants & T-shirts)
- Underwear
- Pillow and blanket

For husband & I:

- Toiletries
- Towels
- Flip flops / slippers
- Snacks
- Long cable charger for phone
- Water bottles

That’s pretty much it!

Edit: I live in Quebec, Canada. Healthcare is free but due to budget cuts they’ve stopped providing diapers & wipes.
