People who tinker with the noise their car makes... Why?

This isn't a bashing post; yes, I do have negative thoughts behind it.

But I am coming through genuine curious and trying to keep my opinion out of it.

What is it that you find cool about having a really loud exhaust that makes that popping noise?

What do you think other people think about it?

Do you acknowledge it's a nuisance but don't care? or do you think it isn't a nuisance?

Why does your car make a louder sound mean it is better? What's the theory behind it?

Is there ever a point where you get embarrassed about it? Like pulling up to an interview?

Thank you in advance for educating me.

Been waiting 2 years to be able to post!

Modest combo but I’ve been waiting to years to be able to post with my Maltese passport!

So i'm having a bit of a spiral this morning.

My Dog turns 10 on Friday, she is a Sprocker, and she is my absolute Soul Dog.

My partner travels a lot, so it's me and her most of the time. Our energy matches perfectly. She is a snuggler in the house and a proper dog outside, loves exploring, sniffing, and water.

She is just my perfect dog, my best friend and the love of my life.

But now I've started spiralling because she is turning 10, and I know we don't have forever.

I know she is still here, and I do take advantage of every moment of that.

But the idea that someday I will have to go on without her is quite strong today, and I genuinely don't know how I'm going to survive in a world where she is not.

Is anyone else as nuerotic as me on this subject/ How do you deal with it?
