Where to find primary Sources?

There are 2 things I like to research: fashion and history. For fashion, I struggle with finding more pictures of what the AVERAGE person wore. More specifically Id like to research japanese (or any foreign country) fashion during the 2000s, but im afraid that the reaserch i have found or done will not be enough because im not in japan and I would get more information if I was actually in japan. For history, where is the first place to go to find primary sources? Should I find a book made in the time period and about the topic im researching, should i be looking for a specific paper from a person that relates to thing im researching? If so, where should i go to find those (not talking about books)? A lot people say Wikipedia, but there's so many sources idk where to start. P.s. i like to do reaserch on big events, not necessarily people, but I'd appreciate tips on researching people anyway.

How to go to sleep as an artist?

Maybe artist isnt the right word, but I am an artist, so I always have so many inspiring ideas in the night. Even worse, I run around when I have inspiring thoughts. I feel like i dont know, and do know what will put me to sleep, like math, meditation, or visualizing something, etc. (im a visual learner, do with that information that you will.) Those this might tire me a little but they never immediately put me to bed and I end up still tossing and turning in bed with my eyes closed. Times that I have fallen asleep easily are usually when im in math class, after school, or on a road trip.

HELP! At somebody's house, and ruined their nightstand!

A vase with a plant and water fell over (idk how it happened) and it dried on the nightstand but dried as huge waterproof stains. I couldn't just wipe it off with water, But I could scrub it off. I scrubbed it with all-purpose cleaner and a sponge but now their are these 3D scratches on the surface (not grooves and not light scratches) and idk how to get rid of them. I think the surface is wood underneath the shiny black top.
