How to EQ HD 560S on Android

Hello everyone 👋

I'm getting back into audiophile music listening, and I think the missing piece is which EQ makes the most sense and how to get the most out of it.

I have the HD 560S and an iFi HipDac2. I'm using it with my phone (S26 Ultra) and Tidal through USB Audio Player Pro.

In the past, and currently, this already sounds pretty good with no further adjustments...but I read a lot that proper EQ use, even if subtle, can "wake up" passive open back headphones and maximize their potential for greatness.

Is there a separate EQ app I should download and use? Or is the one built into UAPP good enough?

I actually want to upgrade to the HD 660S2, but want to first master using an EQ properly before making the jump.

Heroes and Villains Sounds Like...

My Life by Billy Joel? Or rather, My Life is potentially inspired by Heroes and Villains by The Beach Boys?

Anyone else agree or ever notice this? Haha, I swear I don't see a single mention on the internet of someone hearing a similarity. Or am I crazy? This is specific to the verse vocals. It's not a carbon copy, but similar in multiple ways.

External Drive Idea for PS6 Backwards Compatibility

Instead of Sony spending resources on a PS6-only external disc drive that fits onto the console, it would be better to keep the current PS5 external drive on production and release a mount that it can attach to which is then plugged into PS6 USB port.

This would save them money, and save those of us money who already have an external PS5 drive.

MOHELA Starts Issuing 90-Day Notice to Switch Off SAVE

The SAVE Plan Ended - Take Action

A recent legal settlement ended the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan, and it is no longer available to borrowers. As a result of the settlement, MOHELA was directed by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to deny all SAVE Plan applications. Visit StudentAid.gov/courtactions for more information about the settlement.

MOHELA records show that you submitted an income-driven repayment (IDR) plan application and requested either the SAVE Plan or the SAVE Plan and another plan.

You must now select a new repayment plan. If you're not currently enrolled in the SAVE Plan and don't submit a new application for a different repayment plan within 90 days, your SAVE forbearance will end and you will be required to resume payments on the plan you were on before you applied for SAVE. If you're currently enrolled in the SAVE Plan, you will be placed on either the Standard Repayment Plan or the Tiered Standard Plan, depending on your circumstances.

Visit StudentAid.gov/repayment-calculator to estimate monthly payments, determine your eligibility, and choose the repayment plan that meets your needs and goals.

If you have questions, contact MOHELA.

Apply Faster by Sharing Your Federal Tax Information

If you have eligible loans, applying for a new IDR plan is quick and easy if you provide consent for ED to obtain your federal tax information directly from the IRS. This allows ED to process your application faster and eliminates the time-consuming work of manually uploading your income information.

By providing consent for ED to access your federal tax information, ED can automatically recertify your IDR plan.

Visit StudentAid.gov/idr to begin your application.

Lower Your Interest Rate on Auto Pay

If you're not already on auto pay, sign up now to lower your interest rate on eligible federal student loans. Starting July 1, 2026, when you sign up for auto pay, the interest rate will be reduced by 1%. This interest rate reduction means you'll accrue less interest and pay off your loans faster.

To get this benefit, you must

have Direct Loans disbursed on or after July 1, 2012;

enroll in auto pay by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Sept. 30, 2026; and

remain on auto pay and stay in active repayment on your federal student loans.

After June 30, 2028, your interest rate discount will automatically revert to 0.25%, the standard auto pay interest rate reduction.

PS6 For Sony Is About Adding New Ways To Play

Looking at various leaks/rumors, it's obvious that PS6 is going to be a Switch copycat. It's going to be a handheld hybrid console w/dock that has the raw power/capability of around a base PS5.

How much is it going to cost? Probably $599 is my guess. Would not be a bad price given the current market conditions for the what you're getting imho. And there will likely be a home console only version of PS6 that will be the premium, or "Pro", offering. Will likely be $999, however.

But here's the thing. If you don't have the money to upgrade, you don't have to! Because all PS6 games have to run on the low power hybrid, basically all games will be able to run on PS5.

Sony will heavily lean on the hybrid features with the debut of the PS6 as the reason to purchase. And why shouldn't they? Switch has been a massive success. Steam Deck is popular, other PC handhelds are gaining traction, and Xbox handheld is coming. It makes all the sense in the world.

"Next gen" is going to be more cross gen than ever. PS5 and PS5 Pro users can remain on those consoles for years to come, if they choose. The hybrid nature of PS6 will be the selling point. And for those who can afford and want premium hardware, there will be the home console version.
