press releases / articles

question to more experienced than me.

to build my portfolio, is it a good idea to offer free press releases / articles to brands?

or, they only pay me per publication of press releases? or terrible idea? have you ever done anything like that?

I don’t really have much experience outside of working as a media relations freelancer, but i was pitching already written releases and it was a big agency. I’d love to get more experience so wondering if that’s a good idea at all

Rates

if you need a motivation to raise your rates, my Polish tarot reader charges £60 ($80) per hour of tarot reading. she lives in Poland too, and works remotely. she’s always, and I mean always, fully booked.

she’s a lovely lady and deserves it. but, if she can charge £60 per hour of magic reading, that should really be the bare minimum for professional services. if that motivated you to raise your rates, you’re welcome, lol

What’s wrong with PR career?

joined his subreddit as I’ve been contemplating trying to work in PR. I’ve been working in business development in various marketing agencies over the past 12+ years and had a small stint in PR (media relations for packaging industry, found it incredibly boring but it was just a very boring industry tbf) but had a burnout and I’m just trying to figure out what I want to do next (hence the idea of trying PR again).

I also studied PR at uni so this is not a completely random decision.

but I have to say, reading posts and comments here makes me wonder if it‘s a good idea. the general vibe I’m getting is that a lot of people don’t feel happy working in PR / regrets not switching careers etc. why is that? would you recommend someone who has little experience to try their luck in this industry? I’m also thinking of trying freelance writing / journalism. any tips and words of advice would be much appreciated.

btw I’m thinking of either in-house or freelance PR, not really thinking about joining agencies.

Ile wynosi Wasz czynsz do spółdzielni?

Jestem ciekawa czy inni też tyle płacą?

Moje mieszkanie nalezy do jezyckiej spoldzielni mieszkaniowej, mieszkanie 64m2, czynsz wynosi aktualnie 1420zł/ mies.

Aż 300zł z tego to oplata ‘funduszu remontowego’ - ostatni remont w moim bloku byl ponad 10 lat temu.

Czy inni tez tyle płacą?
