all assuming it runs fine, want to see some thoughts.
Looking for any advice. I have a 2021 f250, 7.3 gas engine. it currently has about 80k miles. About a month ago I was speeding up to merge on to the highway and the truck starting jerking and the check engine light came on. it went away after about 30 seconds. the truck was fine for a while then happened one more time. I assumed it was spark plugs so I got them replaced. it solved the code. but I am still now getting a jerk/rough transition around the 9/10th gear. It’s very inconsistent. I can let go of the throttle and it will stop, or I can find a way to settle in to it. The car shop mentioned it being a torque converter or something transmission related which is worrisome. It’s very much drivable but I have a 10 hour ride coming up and just wanted to feel fine about driving it.
this is something that I know gets brought up. but I’ve kinda let is slide considering it’s like a oh your new, time to really learn. but im a 5 month electrical apprentice and there have been a handful of times I’ve worked hot. whether is been a outlet or light, they have said to do it. I did get shocked from 120 a few weeks ago doing a gfi. I feel confident In knowing what to do, but I feel like lately I’ve been thinking about how it’s not smart to work hot especially when I don’t need to and am still so new. Sometimes I’ll mention I don’t want to do it hot and theyll say they don’t know where the panel is, or the breaker etc.
today i was working on a wall pack light and was up on a 14 ft extension. I was told it’s probably hot. In my head I didn’t want to do it and wanted to say something. But in the past they’ve given me a hard time about it. I stayed quiet and changed out the light / ballast. I’m almost thinking the more experience I get / the smarter I become and realize why is it they keep stuff on to work hot? I understand some things you have to, but I shouldn’t be expected as an apprentice.
yesterday I was coming home from work and was turning onto highway. I sped up to merge and ended up pushing 85~mph. my check engine light came on and was blinking. the truck drove fine and felt fine. I was about to pull over but the light went off. I’d say about 1 minute it was blinking. today drove the truck 40 mins and has been fine. could it have been a fault sensor? or a misfire/sparkplug? as I mentioned I felt nothing and was super shocked seeing the light come on. I am at 79k miles. 2021 F250
