Submitted Annex A 6 weeks ago, still no update - visa about to expire, honestly ready to withdraw

Submitted my Annex A form 6 weeks ago and still haven’t heard a single thing back. My visa is about to expire and I’m getting nowhere with any updates, it’s honestly beyond stressful at this point.

Genuinely at the point where I’m considering just withdrawing my application, the waiting with zero communication is too much.

Has anyone gotten a start date recently? Trying to figure out if things are actually moving for anyone or if this is just how it is for everyone right now.

Feeling the pressure waiting on HMPPS - anyone else in a similar boat?

Currently going through the process for a Prison Officer role. DBS and medical are done, and I sent off Annex A about a month ago. Still waiting to hear back.

Bit stressed at the moment as my visa situation adds some time pressure on my end, so the waiting is harder than it might otherwise be.

Would love to hear from anyone who’s been in the process recently and how things went for them, or just some reassurance that quiet periods like this are normal.

If I’m dismissed on probation, can it cost me a civil service job I’ve already accepted?

Hello,

I’m currently in a civil service role, still on probation. My manager says my performance doesn’t quite meet the level, but honestly I do about 60% of my work directly with a G6 who is happy with my performance. Another chunk I do with no issues and no mistakes. The rest is with my team, where I’ve made a few mistakes. I’ve owned them, said I learned from them, and I’ve been improving. Despite that, they put me on a PIP.

The whole month of the PIP my manager kept going over mistakes I’d made earlier, which I’d already explained were unintentional. The micromanagement has been extreme, every single thing I do gets scrutinised.

Two other things came up. When I joined I was keen and didn’t always take the full 30-minute break (sometimes 20 mins), but it’s been flagged that on occasion I took 40 to 50 minutes. Separately, I’d used AI to polish my LinkedIn profile, and it made my job role and team sound more impressive than the reality. A fake/ghost account viewed my profile recently, and now my manager is saying this is a policy breach and a conduct issue. There’s a formal meeting and they’ve said I’ll most likely be dismissed. I deleted the LinkedIn details as soon as it was flagged.

My union says I did breach policy and there’s a high chance of dismissal.

My main worry: I’ve already applied for and accepted another civil service job, and they do employment checks. If I’m dismissed here, will that stop me taking the new role? And, What should I say in the formal meeting?

Need Advice for NHS Senior Finance Officer Interview – No NHS Experience

Hi everyone,

I recently got an interview invitation for an NHS Senior Finance Officer role, but I have never worked in the NHS before. I’m feeling a bit nervous because the job description didn’t clearly explain the interview format.

I have finance/accounting experience, but I don’t know much about NHS interview patterns, NHS values, or what they expect from candidates in finance roles.

Could anyone please guide me on:
01. What kind of questions are usually asked for NHS Senior Finance Officer interviews?
02. Are the questions mainly technical, behavioural, or scenario-based?
03. Do they ask about NHS values and competencies?
04. Any tips for someone coming from a non-NHS background?
05. I would really appreciate any advice, sample questions, or interview experiences.
06. What should I prepare to increase my chances of success?

Thank you so much.
