Vehicle crossing & new parking spot
Looking for any suggestions or recommendations for a householder planning application in Leeds/West Yorkshire.
I’m looking to apply for a vehicle crossing (dropped kerb) which crosses a pathway onto some land next to the house which is within our boundary and is over 5m deep, then build a permeable driveway which is ideally large enough to park 2 cars on.
I tried applying for a dropped kerb in the first instance but the council came back telling me I needed householder planning permission. After asking them to clarify whether the planning permission was needed for the kerb or the land, they came back with the very useful answer of “Yes a householder is correct”.
Given that the land is currently just unused grass but is within my boundary, I can only assume that the planning permission is because it’s a change of use of the land.
This all seems complex and I feel quite out of my depth with it. I’ve had a look around online for planning consultants but many have come back with a crazy high price or say they don’t deal with it.
Is anyone able to make any recommendations or are able to steer me in the right direction? Greatly appreciated, thank you!
