I love watching them climb around

So I know that you can go and collect leaves but what do I do to make them safe for the tank? I know I can’t just put them straight into the tank. And what’s the process to make some moss safe for my crabs? If anyone could help me with that k would highly appreciate it
Hi everyone I have a problem. I really need to put some more substrate into my hermit crabs tank. The problem is that I have 7 hermit crabs and at least one of them is always buried. How can safely add more substrate? Do I just have to wait until maybe some day I catch them all above ground?
I recently had to move my hermit crabs into a new tank and I waited as long as I could for my hermit crabs to come up from their molt. Everyone except for one did. I know you should not dig up your crabs but since I moved I had to. But while really carefully removing the sand I found only the shell and one leg of my crab. It didn’t smell like fish or it didn’t smell bad at any point in their tank. So my question is did my other hermit crabs eat him or why did I only find one of his legs? I am really sad and I will miss Breeze forever
This is today’s dinner for my hermit crabs. I live in Germany and there are no food mixes for hermit crabs that I can buy here and I can’t pay 25 euros shipping cost. So I always put together a dinner with everything they need and of course I switch it up with lots of different food but this is today’s dinner. It looks pretty good tbh xd
Eggshell
Shrimp
Beef
cockroach
Mealworms
Snake shed/skin
Blueberries, strawberries and cherry
Sesame seeds, sunflower seeds walnuts, linseed
Olive oil, salmon oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a little bit of peanut butter
This is my female betta Eloise. I thought she was having eggs and that’s why she’s gotten bigger. I’m still pretty sure that she has eggs in her. But what is this big lump on her fin? She is not pineconing and still eating but she’s not swimming that well anymore. Maybe she can’t get the eggs out? Is there anything I can do to help her?
She’s in a heavily planted 35 liter tank with only some shrimp and snails. The temperature is at 26 celcius and the water tests come back fine
I love how it turned out and my hermit crabs are already exploring. I am still waiting on some plants to arrive so I will add them soon! But what do you guys think? Any suggestions on making it even better for them?
This coconut is Babys favorite spot and when i recently added Scarlett they became friends and now hang out together most of the time. (Scarlett is the small red one and Baby is the bigger one)
So I’m currently working on my new terrarium for my hermit crabs. And I’m worried that the heating pads which I will install on the back of the terrarium won’t be able to go through the wood to make it warm enough in there. Is there anything I can do to help keep the heat in?
Disclaimer!
I am not done with the tank yet! And of course the whole will be closed so that they can’t escape! This is a work in progress video.
I was thinking about making food dishes for my hermit crabs but I would have to seal them with UV resin. So now the question: is it toxic/ dangerous for them?
So far I’ve read two things:
So now I’m hoping to get some answers on here. If it is toxic and dangerous to them I obviously won’t put anything like that in my terrarium!
I found this terrarium which is 120cm long, 80cm wide and 60cm high and I’m so excited to make this into a nice big home for my crabs. Do you guys have any suggestions or good ideas?
Everything that’s inside of this tank is not mine! I will get it tomorrow completely empty and obviously add my own stuff and everything my crabs need
The „bigger“ one is always on top or next to the smaller her it crab. He is following him everywhere. Is this shell jacking or aggression? They have about 10 shells in the right sizes and some are a bit bigger. So I don’t understand what’s happening. I ordered 12 new ones just in case and they will arrive in 2 days. Do I need to separate them?
These are 2 out of my 4 new hermit crabs. I can’t get over how cute they are and how much they trust me. They are barely scared and even crawl onto my hand when I change the food dishes. The first one is called Buddy Junior and the second (red) one is called Tony (Iron Man). They are supposed to only get 3cm big and I’m so happy that I get to give them a good home and love
I am finally done setting up my new hermit crab tank. I am in love with how it turned out! I made the background myself and it has lots of platforms for them to climb on. And of course I’m gonna add some bubblers to their fresh and saltwater pools
I replanted the entire tank today for my female Betta Annie and some snails and „cleaner fish“. They all seem to love it and so do I! I know it looks a bit messy with all those different plants but it kinda feels and looks natural to me so I love it. What do you think?
Look at Baby hanging out in his coconut. He loves this place so much! And he just looks too adorable
I always thought springtails are white. So I just wanted to ask if those are black springtails or if they look like mites? The smaller ones are white but the bigger ones are black
