I bought a new car last year, and this is my first year paying the registration renewal fee. My previous car was around $150 for the renewal and emissions test. My renewal this year is $303, and my partner's is $165. This seems much higher than last year (for my partner too) but I'm not sure if it's just because I have a new car.

I'm trying to host a meetup with a group of 15-25 people with some folks that are under 21. We have some locations for during the day, but many places (like the library) close fairly early. Does anyone know of good spots for a larger group to meetup later in the evening (like 6pm to 10pm) that aren't bars or restaurants, and can be easily reached through public transport?
I don't mind coffee shops or similar places, I just don't want attendees to feel obligated to buy a whole meal. We have our own activities so we wouldn't need an activity to do. I know there are some local game shops that would be suitable for our group, but it seems like the ones downtown are very busy already with events. I've been trying to research some spots, but I know I'm asking for a lot with how SLC is. 😅
Hi friends! I'm hoping that there are some people from Utah (specifically the Salt Lake City area) on this subreddit that might want to join the Utah Tamagotchi Club Discord.
I know there have been a few attempts at tama groups over the years but it seems like it has mostly died out. I'm hoping that this discord will help us all stay connected even during times when the club is slow. I also created an Instagram account, but I will mainly be focusing on the Discord.

If I click it again, it will brew a shot, but the first brew after waking it up is like this. I've made sure the water tank is properly seated, factory reset the buttons (hold steam/1cup to turn off, hold 1 cup and 2 cup to reset), and tried grinding more coarse/more fine. Nothing seems to help.
I've only had this thing for a few months so I'm hoping it's user error and not something malfunctioning.

Update 2/12/2026: for anyone having the same issue, here's the troubleshooting steps that Breville sent me. Unfortunately, none of these worked for me and it looks like I will have to send it in, but hopefully they can help someone else.

Update 2/20/2026: Breville has finally sent me postage to return the machine to be fixed. The process was a little frustrating since they had issues accessing the video I sent them, and kept asking me repeat questions that I had already answered in previous emails. I'm hoping I won't have issues once it's returned but it's a little frustrating that I've had issues with a machine that's less than two months old.
Update as of 6/2/2026: The machine has had the same issue on and off since I received it from being fixed. I didn't want to deal with the terrible customer service and the whole process of sending it back, so I was trying to troubleshoot it by myself. Today it got to the point where it won't brew a shot at all. I opened another ticket but I'm incredibly frustrated that I've wasted so much time trying to fix a machine that is less than a year old. These are not cheap and should not have these many problems.
Does anyone know where to find a keychain or souvenir that plays the Yamanote JRE-IKST-010 jingle? It's fine if it's something custom too, I just don't know where to look. It was one of my favorites but I could only the five versions of ekichains, and this wasn't one of them.
I got this in Japan during the pop up at Tokyo Station. I'm curious what everyone's opinions are of this release? It doesn't seem like it's anything special, but I'm pretty new to tamas (other than a few I had when I was much younger) and obviously I haven't played it yet. I bought it before I learned about Paradise, so I regret buying it a bit. So far I like Paradise more than the Gen 1 and 2.
