What other songs would you have included in a 2112 Musical?

I made a fan project called “2112: The Musical” — a sung-through rock opera, using 57 Rush songs across nearly every Rush era.

One major decision: I intentionally left out Clockwork Angels because it already functions as its own self-contained concept album.

But I’m curious: What songs would you have included differently?

  • What omissions jump out immediately?
  • What songs deserve key role in the story?
  • What songs would have you removed from this track list?
  • And should Clockwork Angels have been included anyway?

Full playlist is here if anyone wants to see how the songs were used:

I adapted Rush’s 2112 into a 2-hour sung-through musical

Over the last several months, I’ve been working on a fan-made rock opera built entirely from Rush songs.

The project reimagines the world of 2112 as a 2-hour sung-through musical, using tracks from across Rush’s catalogue to construct a full narrative arc.

What started as a fun experiment in song sequencing eventually turned into a full theatrical narrative structure with recurring motifs, character arcs, reprises, and transitions between albums/eras.

I know this is an extremely niche intersection of prog rock and musical theatre, but I thought some people here might appreciate this concept.

(Oh, and can someone forward this to Alex Lacamoire... 😂)

I turned 2112 into a sung-through musical using 57 Rush songs

I spent the last several months turning Rush’s 2112 universe into a full 12-part sung-through rock musical.

The complete project is now on YouTube as a 2-hour playlist built entirely from 57 edited Rush songs.

Each chapter runs about 8–12 minutes and uses tracks from across Rush’s catalogue to tell the story.

The musical includes songs from every album from ‘Rush’ to ‘Snakes & Arrows.’

See the second image that tracks all 57 songs used across their discography.

This was purely a fan-made passion project created out of love for Rush, prog rock, concept albums, and theatrical storytelling.

Would genuinely love to hear what fellow Rush fans think.
