Analysis: Tides sell goalkeeper Rylee Foster-Inman to Everton FC in historic deal
hfxfootballpost.caNSL Power Rankings - Week 17
6 - Calgary Wild
Calgary is showing signs of life for the first time this season, but not enough to bump them out of last in my rankings. They have strung a couple wins together between league and Can Champ play so hopefully they can build on the momentum - though the season is not salvageable from a ‘make the playoffs’ perspective. They face a tough test against Ottawa this week.
5- Vancouver Rise
Sadly, Vancouver seems to have lost their way lately. They haven’t won a match in a month and recently gifted Calgary their first NSL win of the season. Hopefully they can get back on track this weekend at home VS Halifax. If they don’t figure things out soon, the reigning champs will find themselves outside of the playoffs
4 - Montreal Roses
A 4th place ranking for a 2nd place team may seem harsh but their recent home play has been abysmal. The Roses bottled their Can Champ match against a non pro side and now find themselves without their head coach with 10 matches to play in the regular season. The Roses will surely make the playoffs but I doubt they will hold on to the 2nd seed.
3- Halifax Tides
The Tides aren’t the best team in the league, but they never seem to be out of contention in any match. Though they should have finished off Ottawa when they had the chance in Can Champs, they gave the table topping Rapid all they could handle and have come away with road wins on either side of that match.
2- AFC Toronto
AFC Toronto has found their form - 10 points from their last 4 matches and no sign of slowing down. They can pass Montreal for 2nd in the standings with a win this weekend. If anyone is going to catch the Rapid and take the shield, it will be the reigning shield holders.
1- Ottawa Rapid
10 matches without a loss, a historic comeback win in the Can Champ round of 8 and a match VS Calgary this weekend. Life is good.

Simcoe Rovers upset Montreal Roses in W CanChamp quarterfinal
Former Montreal Roses FC head coach Robert Rositoiu writes his farewell to the club #RosesFC #NSL
Love this. The newest Roses FC addition Mimi Alidou shows off the retro Montreal Impact gear. Will there be more surprises at Stade Saputo on Saturday night?
Montreal Roses have sacked Robert Rositoiu
Maryse Bard-Martel has been named interim head coach.
Seems like an overreaction, imo, given they are second in the table.

Hi Northern Super League fans,
Thank you for your support on our past interviews with the league, it has been such a joy to work with such incredible athletes!
Today, AFC Toronto and Canadian National Team goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo sits down to discuss life in the Northern Super League!
Olympic Medalist and fearless shot-stopper joins the podcast to share insider insights on AFC Toronto's 2026 season and the Canadian National Team ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
She shares what it meant to earn her first international cap, her experience winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, what standing on that podium meant to her personally, and where that accomplishment ranks among her career milestones as she guides Canada into the 2027 cycle with her seniority and leadership.
Sabrina also talks about the iconic 2016 NWSL Championship final where she won Finals MVP with the Western New York Flash after making three massive penalty saves in the shootout! She takes us into the goalkeeper's mindset ahead of each kick, the role of preparation and scouting the opposition's top shooters, and the unique attributes that make a top goalkeeper so incredible at stopping penalties.
