I must speak my truth.

Source: Unsure. It was shared by someone on the CoreyLoses Discord, but then it was lost, but people liked it enough that someone else remade it. I've only ever seen it on said Discord, so maybe it was original to there, but we aren't even sure which user originally posted it anymore.

Anyway. Shatterpoint is amazing, and no character looks good in that TCW arc. Mace doesn't deserve the hate.

Edit:

This wasn't meant controversial or TCW dunking so much as... encouraging people to read Shatterpoint or the Revenge of the Sith novel or check out the Republic comics. I promise Mace is actually an insanely cool character. Not to hate on TCW... but it does kind of do him dirty. So, if that's what you mainly know him from, you haven't seen Mace at his best.

Beating the Hapans, made easy!

- Build a Tagge or Allegiance, something designed to tank.

- Build a ton of VSD1s.

- Build some tenders.

- Build some point defense.

- Build an interdictor (optional).

- Bring a hero or two with a decent tier. Preferably 6+.

Put the Allegiance/Tagge in front.

Stack the VSD1's (5-9) on top of the tanking ship. Try to cluster them as close together as you can.

Put your hero in the back.

Put the interdictor in the middle back. Activate its jamming just in case any bombers get through.

Put the tenders in the middle, try to get every ship within their circles, or as many as you can, and try to have every ship inside at least one circle.

Put your point defense ships near the front. Putting one near the back may not be a bad idea just for dealing with any fighters/bombers that get through, though Hapan fighters are generally not super threatening.

Make sure the Tagge/Allegiance is in front just slightly more than everyone else. You want it to be the primary target. It may die, but with tending it could end up holding on for a good long while, or even outlast the enemy entirely. I usually bring a second just in case either way.

I'm not very good at micro-ing space, yet I haven't lost a single ship despite going after multiple 300+ pop Hapan fleets with compositions like this.

Why VSD1's? Because they're armed with Assault Concussion Missiles and Light Turbolasers - both of which are weapons that excel at destroying smaller ships. Most factions can build VSD1's, but there are relatively viable substitutes for the ones who can't.
