The guy is just doing his job, sent by the govt who still want intelligent students + good money. We are literally stupid to dissuade anyone. Don't know what surreal dream Irish life he will describe to the crowd of unsuspecting parent/students there that will convince them to take huge education/house loans to send their kids abroad for a good life. Then these students who would be under pressure to pay back the loans would start taking any job left right centre. Vicious cycle. Who is exploiting whom?

A 17-year-old student from Dublin has invented a glove that can identify a ­seizure before it happens.

“The idea came to me when my friend was really stressed during her exams once and she fainted right before it,” Swasti Sahoo, a student at Adamstown Community College, said.

“So at first, I made a prediction system for stress – something to try and predict it because we only know we are stressed because we already feel it, which is of no use to us if it’s already affected us.

“I presented this at a young scientists competition, and they asked me to go more specific and narrow it down.”

Now, the glove identifies an epileptic seizure ahead of time to help people get help as soon as possible.

The glove identifies an ­“autonomic storm”, or paroxysmal sympathetic ­hyperactivity, when a person experiences extreme symptoms such as a rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, rapid breathing, fever and muscle rigidity.

“The glove targets the autonomic storm at the fingertips to provide a life-saving warning window that current smartwatches miss,” Swasti said.

“I’ve built the entire prototype for under €55 to ensure it’s accessible to everyone.”
