This question is especially for women because I honestly cannot think of anything other than going shopping or to a restaurant and I’m sick of it. What do you guys do here for fun?
I really would like to move a different country, because I find life in Pakistani very unbearable. For some context I’m F(26), I got my masters done this year from NUST in development studies, my bs was in social sciences. My original plan was to start working in an international humanitarian organisation or something like the UN and then move but I got an opportunity to work with an American company which pays a lot more than these organisations so I decided to go for that instead and have been working there for the past 1.5 years.
The problem is that my job isn’t related to my field, as I’m a project manager and also mostly work in marketing stuff so the stuff I do here won’t count for much in my actual field. PS my American company won’t help in any visa related stuff as I’m a contractor.
I’m not sure where to go from here, for living in Pakistan the job is really good, but if I move abroad I’ll have to find another job which makes me nervous as I’m not confident at all, the development field has gotten progressively worse over the past few years and trying to gain experience here before moving is also not possible as development related fields here pay pennies, even with my American job, I’ve only saved around 40ish lac.
Originally I did not want to study because honestly I’m quite sick of it but I don’t see any other way of getting a visa abroad. I had a 3.9 gap in bachelors and 4gpa in masters. I don’t want to move abroad without a scholarship so some advice on where to start looking would be nice. But I’m not sure if I should go for another masters or PhD or if it’s even worth it because I do not need another degree. But then what option do I have? Why would they allow me to emigrate for no reason 😭
Additionally, I’m really confused because life in Pakistan is finally good. I grew up in a very poor household and I finally have stability in my life, I can make my parents happy and I don’t know if I have it in me to struggle more abroad.
But at the same time, I am so at odds with Pakistan, being irreligious and having very different priorities in life than my family and life here is just so suffocating. Not to forget I live in KPK which is even more suffocating than normal, you are barely allowed to leave your house.
I’m just really confused and need some advice, I’m so unhappy
PS Canada the US, or UK are the best options for me to actually even be allowed to move to as I have family there. Though I would personally prefer either Europe or Canada
