What is up the 4T65E?

2006 Pontiac Grand Prix I’ve had for 8 years now, and recently it was having harsh shifting issues, so I got the pressure solenoids and shift sensors replaced and it was driving again beautifully and had no issues whatsoever for quite a while. It was nice to have the car back and not worry about it.

3,000kms later, today driving home from work (10min commute) it started having harsh shifts again in every gear. The shifts were harsh enough to feel like someone was bumping the car from behind.

Why in the world does it just start to fail like this again after running so good for 3,000kms after having it fixed?

Also I’m more curious on how long the transmission will last if I keep driving it with these hard shifts? Will it eventually just give out? Or is it okay to drive it like this and just put up with the harsh shifting as an
annoyance thing?

The car has 267,000kms

22 year old childhood friend passed

I don’t mean to make this post to scare anyone im just kind of shocked and im also looking for answers to my curiosity about hydrocephalus.

I lost touch with him during and after high school but he was born with hydrocephalus and had surgeries growing up, he used to be my best friend. Last year he was working in northern Canada planting trees and after his 12 hour shift he just dropped dead from hydrocephalus.

Now again since I lost touch with him and his family I really don’t know the things like if he needed more treatment but didn’t get them, etc. but for people born with severe hydrocephalus can they really just die suddenly like that?

It’s very sad, I hope he’s resting easy and I hope his family is doing okay. He was a good guy.
