Hi everyone. Genuinely asking.
On Friday I posted advising people currently looking for a job to keep an open mind to independent schools.

Wondering. Why was the post removed by mods.

A) use of AI? I did use AI to brush up language and to find a pic. Is this not allowed?

B) this thread is only for Public Boards? If so why?

C) Other reason

Genuinely perplexed. I’m here to learn. I messaged moderators but haven’t gotten a reply.

I work at a large, established independent school. Whenever teachers join us from a public board, one of the most common comments I hear is, "I had no idea schools like this even existed."

Obviously every school is different, but many larger independent schools can offer:

• Salaries and benefits that are comparable to (and sometimes better than) board positions
• Participation in the same OTPP pension plan
• In some cases (like in my school) unionized job protection
• Much higher levels of administrative and student support
• Fewer discipline issues and fewer classroom disruptions
• Smaller classes and a stronger sense of community (depending on the school)

I'm not suggesting independent schools are the right fit for everyone - but I regularly meet teachers who assume the boards are the only viable option and are surprised to learn what's available elsewhere.

If you're job hunting, it may be worth broadening your search. There are some excellent opportunities outside the public system that don't get talked about very much.

I have flat feet. I wear custom orthotics. I need nice dressy shoes. Black. Wide. Please give recommendations. I’m in Canada but can order to states. I used to find rockport fine but now it isn’t working for me. Can also do a black running shoe.
