Best budget option for a 10-year-old wanting to play Forza 6?

Hi everyone,

My 10-year-old son wants a PC to play Forza 6 😅

I tried installing it on his mom’s laptop, which he already uses for The Sims and Farming Simulator without any issues.

The problem is that Forza won’t even start — I get an error message saying the PC isn’t powerful enough.

So now I’m looking for a solution, but I don’t want to spend a fortune either.
What would you go for nowadays for a 10-year-old mainly wanting to play Forza?

  • cheap used gaming desktop?
  • Xbox Series S?
  • upgrading an old PC?
  • mini gaming PC?

Mainly looking for the best value for money.

Thanks 🙂

Hey, First of all, I’m not a native English speaker, so I’m using ChatGPT to translate this.

I recently started playing Street Fighter 6 and I’m having a lot of trouble with inputs, especially DP motions (623) and clean diagonals.

I’m currently playing on a standard pad, and I often mess up inputs (missing the diagonal, getting the wrong move, etc.). I know this is probably just lack of experience, but I’m wondering if my controller is making things harder than they need to be.

I’ve been looking into leverless / hitbox-style controllers, since people say inputs feel cleaner and more precise. But I also don’t want to:

  • learn on one controller
  • then have to relearn everything later

At the same time, I’m also wondering:

👉 Why not just play on an arcade stick instead?
Is it actually better for beginners, or is it mostly preference?

So my questions are:

  • For a beginner, is it better to stick with pad, switch to leverless, or try a stick?
  • Do leverless controllers really help with inputs like DP / quarter circles, or is it overrated?
  • Is stick easier or harder for motions like 623 compared to pad?
  • How hard is the transition between these controllers?
  • If I switch now, will it help me build better habits long term?

Also, I’m looking for something comfortable and stable (desk or lap), not just “optimal”.

👉 And most importantly:
What controller would you actually recommend buying as a beginner?
(Models like Haute42, Kitsune, Fightbox, stick brands, etc.)

Any advice from people who went through the same thing would be really appreciated 🙏
