Me and my friends are backpacking in a couple days and still have no idea where we want to go and are in urgent need of recommendations.

Please exclude the following since we’ve already been or are saving:
-pictured rocks
-sleeping bear dunes
-Nordhouse dunes

We are really hoping to fish as well so it’d be awesome if the recs included some good spots, also doesn’t need to be in Michigan but preferably within a 12 hour drive of the Detroit area.

Ive heard a lot of hype about porcupine mountains but were hoping to avoid at the moment since I’ve heard the ticks are bad right now.

I want to cook fish that I catch and make meals on my backpacking trips, what’s the lightest cook kit with a pan/pot that could handle making meals ideally in the winter too?

I’ve heard good things about the Soto wind master but I have no idea about UL pans or pots etc

I’m going backpacking with my fishing kit and was wondering how people carry their soft plastics to avoid damaging them

I just picked up a pack of keitech swim baits and didn’t want to use the original packaging as when I push the air out of my pack to compress it when closing I was worried the packaging would cave in, doesn’t anyone have any recommendations on how to carry like 3-5 soft plastic paddle tails securely while still keeping it light and small?

I want to take my spinning rod with me while I’m backpacking and I want to protect it from impacts and scratches, I’ve been looking everywhere for ultralight rod tubes but they’re all for fly fishing, are there any brands making ultralight tubes for non-fly rods or are there any good ways to protect my rod while it’s strapped on the outside of my pack because I’m very surprised to find that I’m not able to find a single brand that’s thought of this.

Also I’ve tried the fluorescent light tube diy and there’s nowhere to buy anything above a t8 that’s not a bulk shipment.
