Help! Is anyone else experiencing crashes with Heroes Launcher + Third Upgrades Mod (TUM)?

Hi everyone, I really need some help with an issue I'm having with Third Upgrades Mod (TUM).

Since the latest Heroes Launcher update on August 15th, I haven't been able to create a Random Map with TUM enabled. Heroes Launcher crashes 100% of the time during Random Map generation.

What's strange is that the previous version of Heroes Launcher worked perfectly fine with the exact same mod setup. I didn't have this problem before the recent update.

I've tried creating Random Maps many times since the update, but the result is always the same: crash every single time. So far, I haven't been able to successfully generate even one Random Map with TUM.

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem, especially after the August 15th update. Could this be a compatibility issue between the new Heroes Launcher version and TUM?

I've attached a video showing the crash so you can see exactly what happens.

If anyone has encountered this before, knows a workaround, or has any idea what could be causing it, I'd really appreciate your help! 🙏

I really love TUM and would love to keep playing it, so I'm hoping there's a solution. 😭

Leshy needs a rework

I really love Leshy's design.

The whole concept of a spirit of the forest, the guardian of nature, the king of the woods... I think it looks fantastic. His animations are beautiful, and even the sound effects of his ability fit the character perfectly.

But gameplay-wise?

Leshy feels incredibly underwhelming for a 7-key UR.

Leshy costs 7 keys and has Group Hug, which heals and cures poison from nearby friendly non-Undead Phobies.

The first problem is the key cost.

At 5 keys, we already have Bluelien, which provides a very similar healing role, can heal itself, and can move through obstacles.

Then we have Muffintop + Cupcake + Clinico for a total of only 6 keys.

Cupcake doesn't just provide healing and poison removal either — it can also provide a damage buff.

And Clinico is only 3 keys. It can heal, cure poison, has a 2-turn cooldown, and can even resist poison itself.

So for 6 keys, you get three different healing tools with different utilities and much more flexibility.

Leshy, meanwhile, costs 7 keys for one Phobie.

Now, I understand that Leshy has one major advantage: Group Hug can heal and cure poison from multiple allies at once.

But even that comes with some serious problems.

Leshy cannot cure poison from himself.

That creates a really awkward situation.

Leshy is supposed to be useful when multiple Phobies are poisoned, but he needs to survive long enough to use his group healing and cleansing.

Against Russell, for example, your team can get poisoned across the map. You have to wait until Russell has already used his ability before Leshy can really provide value.

By that point, your Phobies have already been taking poison damage for one or two turns, and some of them may already be dead.

And then Russell uses his ability again.

But Leshy can't even cure himself.

So while Russell is able to poison your team again, Leshy is just sitting there unable to remove his own poison.

That's a huge problem for a 7-key healer whose main purpose is to provide large-scale healing and mass poison cleansing.

And when comparing Leshy to Baaaad Sheep, the imbalance becomes even more obvious.

You have to spend 7 keys just to counter the poison effect of a 6-key Phobie, really?

Baaaad Sheep's ability costs only 6 keys and has a 1-turn cooldown.

That means Baaaad Sheep can use its ability twice before Leshy's Group Hug has even come off cooldown.

So you're spending more keys for a counter that is slower and has fewer options.

And that's not even mentioning the positioning problem.

Leshy's healing and mass poison cleansing require your team to stay around him.

That can be extremely dangerous against Phobies like Klepto and other abilities that punish grouped formations.

With the other healing options, you don't have to put your entire team around one specific Phobie just to get value.

So when you look at the key cost, the cooldown, the positioning requirement, and especially Leshy's inability to cure himself...

I honestly don't see what role Leshy currently fills in a team.

At the moment, Leshy just doesn't have any real use in battle.

And that's a shame, because the character looks amazing.

I would love to see Group Hug reworked in one of two ways:

Option 1: Leshy could heal and cleanse poison from all friendly non-Undead Phobies on the entire map.

The amount of HP restored could be significantly reduced to keep it balanced, but this would make Leshy feel like a true global forest guardian.

Option 2: Give Leshy a 2-tile attack range, with Group Hug healing and cleansing Phobies within a 2-tile radius around the target.

And most importantly, Leshy should also be able to heal and cleanse himself.

Either of these changes would give him a much more meaningful role while still leaving plenty of room for balance adjustments.

That would make him feel much more like what his design promises:

A spirit of the forest.

A guardian of nature.

A source of life and healing.

Right now, Leshy looks like the king of the forest...

but in battle, he feels like he forgot to bring his crown. 😂

Leshy needs a rework.

The Best High-Value Offer Before Halloween?

From a business perspective, I think there is a very interesting spending window right now.

We're approaching a period where players will have several major reasons to spend money in a very short amount of time:

Halloween, Black Friday, and Christmas.

And I think consumer psychology is important here.

When people know several expensive purchases are coming soon, they become more conscious of their spending. Even players who normally spend freely start thinking, "I should probably save my money for the next event."

That's especially true when the offers are close together. The player doesn't necessarily evaluate each offer independently anymore. They start mentally grouping them into one big spending period.

And once that happens, every new offer is competing for the same limited budget.

That's why I think a large offer BEFORE that period could actually be much more effective.

Give players a major purchase opportunity now, while there is still a clear gap before Halloween.

The psychological difference is important.

A player can think:

"I'll buy this now, and I'll decide what I want for Halloween later."

Instead of:

"Wait, if I spend this much now, will I still have enough for Halloween, Black Friday, and Christmas?"

That gap gives the buyer time to mentally reset their spending limit before the next major event.

And that's why I think the Sneers bundle is probably the strongest candidate.

Outside of the three Sneers being sold together, there isn't really another comparable high-value bundle. Individual Phobies can be sold separately, but the complete Sneers trio gives players a reason to make a much larger purchase in one transaction.

You could price it at $120.

Or $150.

Personally, I'd still buy it. 😂

And that's where my serious economic analysis ends and the begging begins.

Please.

You don't need to keep it available for weeks.

Five days.

Three days.

Even one day.

Put the Sneers bundle in the store and I will buy it.

I'm not asking for a discount.

I'm not asking for extra Coffee.

I'm literally telling you exactly what I want and that I'm ready to pay for it.

Devs...

This is probably the easiest money you'll ever make from me.

Please come and take it. 😂💰

Last chance before Halloween?

This is half a suggestion, half me trying to convince the devs to take my money. 😂

As someone who's probably spent far more on Phobies than I should have, I think I qualify as a whale.

That's why I wanted to share this perspective.

I'm not asking for discounts.

I'm not asking for free Coffee.

I'm simply saying: here's the product I'd happily buy.

Alfred.

Or the Sneers bundle.

Here's why I think now is the best time.

Halloween is getting closer.

Once Halloween arrives, I imagine you'll want to introduce new offers rather than rerun older ones.

If that's the case, then this is probably the best opportunity to bring Alfred or the Sneers back before the Halloween season begins.

There's another reason from a business perspective.

Since the Vendy system was introduced, more and more players are gradually completing parts of their collections.

Over time, more players will already own Doloris, Guillaume, or both.

When that happens, fewer people will be willing to buy an entire Sneers bundle just to get Alfred.

I'm probably one of the exceptions.

I already own Doloris and Guillaume...

...and I'd still happily pay a ridiculous amount of money for the whole Sneers bundle just to finally get Alfred. 😂

But realistically, I don't think most players would make that same decision.

The longer the Vendy system exists, the smaller the audience becomes for full collection bundles.

That's why I think selling the Sneers now makes much more business sense than waiting another few months.

Personally, I'd instantly buy either a Guaranteed Alfred offer or a Sneers bundle.

No hesitation.

So this is just one "whale" making a friendly business suggestion.

Devs...

Please stop protecting my wallet.

I'm literally standing here trying to give you money. 😂💰

An Ultimate Vendy Pack (300 Vendy Bucks)

I recently opened my very first Vendy Pack.

After saving Vendy Bucks for a long time, I was excited to finally see what I'd get.

The result?

A new Rare Phobie.

It's still a new Phobie, so I'm grateful for that.

But I can't help feeling a little disappointed after spending so much time working toward it.

That got me thinking about a possible addition to the Vendy system.

What if there were an Ultimate Vendy Pack that cost 300 Vendy Bucks and let players choose any Phobie they wanted?

I'm not suggesting replacing the current Vendy Pack.

I'm not suggesting lowering its cost.

The current system would stay exactly the same.

This would simply be an additional option for players willing to save much longer.

I think it would create a really satisfying long-term goal.

For newer players, the current Vendy Pack would still be the best value because it helps expand their collection quickly.

But for veteran players who already own most Rare Phobies and are only missing a handful of specific Ultra-Rares, another random pack becomes much less exciting.

Many of us aren't looking for "any new Phobie" anymore.

We're chasing that one Phobie we've wanted for months.

An Ultimate Vendy Pack would reward patience rather than luck.

It would also encourage players to keep playing and collecting Vendy Bucks because there would always be a meaningful milestone to work toward.

Personally, I'd happily save 300 Vendy Bucks if it meant finally getting Alfred or Tick.

It would probably take me a long time...

But at least I'd know that every Vendy Buck was bringing me closer to my goal.

What do you all think?

Would you save 300 Vendy Bucks for a guaranteed Phobie of your choice?

$100 in your wallet. Which deal actually gives you more value?

I know the title sounds a little dramatic... but hear me out. 😂

As someone with a very unhealthy Phobies spending habit, I bought the new Stay Awake Deal ($100).

I even recorded the entire opening because I wanted to see if it was actually worth it.

Here's what I got:

  • 2 new Rare Phobies
  • 1 new Ultra-Rare (Hoovey)

Overall, I'd call that very lucky.

The reason I say that is because some friends of mine bought the same deal and didn't get a single new UR.

Hoovey is a good Phobie, so I'm definitely happy to have him.

But if you asked me whether I'd personally pay $100 specifically for Hoovey...

Honestly?

No.

So here's the comparison.

For about the same price, a Guaranteed New Phobie offer usually gives you:

  • The exact Phobie you actually want.
  • 3,000 Coffee.
  • Plus whatever you get from spending that Coffee.

To me, these two offers are selling completely different things.

Stay Awake sells quantity.

More Coffee.
More packs.
More chances to expand your collection.

Guaranteed offers sell certainty.

You immediately get the Phobie you've been waiting months for.

And honestly, I think Guaranteed offers have become even more valuable since the Vendy system was introduced.

Buying Coffee doesn't feel nearly as risky anymore because even unlucky openings still move you toward a Vendy Pack.

That makes players more willing to spend money overall.

Which also makes Guaranteed offers a perfect companion—they let players skip the wait for that one Phobie they've wanted forever.

Personally, if your goal is to grow your collection as quickly as possible, I'd say the Stay Awake Deal is a solid purchase.

But if your dream is one specific Phobie...

Alfred.

Or Tick.

That's it.

Those two don't need a sales pitch.

Just put either one in the store, and my wallet will voluntarily leave my pocket. 😂💀

So here's my conclusion:

Want the most packs? Buy Stay Awake.

Want the Phobie you've wanted for months? Wait for a Guaranteed offer.

Be a smart customer.

And devs...

Please...

Come and take my money already. 😂💰

My wallet has been waiting far longer than it should.

u/Yato2211 — 1 month ago

Guaranteed offers, please. My wallet is ready.

It's been a while since we've had a Guaranteed New Phobie offer.

Please... bring them back. 😂

At this point, I'm not asking for discounts.

I'm not asking for free Coffee.

I'm literally asking the devs to let me spend money.

Alfred?

Take my money.

Tick?

Take my money.

Blast-0 Matic?

Take my money.

Anubis?

Take my money.

Ever since the Vendy system was introduced, players have a lot more confidence when spending Coffee.

Every unlucky pack still contributes toward a Vendy Pack instead of feeling like a complete loss.

That means many of us aren't just chasing random new Phobies anymore—we're waiting for the specific ones we still don't have.

That's exactly where Guaranteed offers shine.

From a business perspective, it feels like a win-win.

Players know exactly what they're buying.

The devs get players who are actually excited to spend.

Everybody's happy.

So please...

Stop protecting my wallet. 😭

It's been ready for months.

Just come and take my money already. 😂💀

u/Yato2211 — 1 month ago

It's been a while since the last exclusive offer... Alfred? 👀

It's been a little while since the last exclusive offer, so I figured I'd make my completely unbiased suggestion once again.

Please.

Alfred. 😂💀

Jokes aside, I actually think the timing makes sense.

Since the Vendy system was introduced, more and more players are gradually completing their Rare collections.

That also means iconic Phobies like Alfred become more valuable as direct offers, because people aren't just chasing rarity anymore—they're chasing the specific Phobies they're still missing.

The Sneers are a perfect example.

A lot of players already have one or two of them and are still hoping to complete the family. The longer Vendy exists, the more players will reach that point.

From a business perspective, I honestly think that's a great opportunity.

Instead of asking players to gamble for one specific Phobie, you're offering something many of them already know they want.

At this point, I'm not even asking for a discount.

I'm literally asking the devs to let me give them money. 😭

Please stop protecting my wallet.

It's been safe for far too long.

Sincerely,
A completely normal player who definitely isn't slowly losing his mind over Alfred. 😂💀

u/Yato2211 — 2 months ago

With the Bluelien offer ending soon, I have just one humble request

Please.

Just this once.

Let it be Alfred 😂💀

I've been waiting for that guy for what feels like forever.

And honestly, from a business perspective, I don't understand how my money is still in my wallet.

We're coming to the end of The Dead Are Rising.

If there was ever a time to put one of the game's most iconic undead Phobies in the store, surely it's now.

At this point, I'm not even asking the devs to take a risk.

I'm basically standing here holding cash and pointing at Alfred 😭

Maybe Alfred wouldn't sell as well as I think.

Maybe I'm completely wrong.

But every time one of these offer discussions appears, I keep seeing people mention Alfred, the Sneers, or other undead Phobies.

So either we're all hallucinating together...

or there's at least some demand there 😂

Anyway, Bluelien is leaving soon.

This is my completely unbiased, totally reasonable, definitely-not-Alfred-obsessed prediction:

Next offer = Alfred.

Please let me be wrong in the right direction 💀

u/Yato2211 — 2 months ago

Bluelien is a good offer, but...

First of all, I think Bluelien is a solid choice.

It's a useful Phobie, it's guaranteed, and getting Coffee alongside it is always nice.

But looking at the current event, I can't help wondering if there were stronger options from both a thematic and business perspective.

We're in The Dead Are Rising.

And that's why Bluelien feels like a slightly strange choice to me.

Bluelien's main identity is healing, yet Undead Phobies cannot be healed. During an event focused on undeads, the featured offer doesn't really connect with the units the event is celebrating.

Meanwhile, when players think about undead Phobies, names like Alfred, Doloris, Guillaume, Jaws, and Tick are usually among the first that come to mind.

That's why Alfred feels like such an obvious candidate.

Not only is he part of one of the most recognizable undead groups in the game, but the Sneers are also one of those collections many players still dream of completing.

And then there's Tick.

A Phobie whose entire identity revolves around spreading Disease to undead units during an undead-themed event? That's about as on-theme as it gets.

From a business perspective, themed offers are often the easiest ones to sell.

Players like events.
Players like collections.
Players like offers that fit the theme currently being promoted.

When those things line up, people tend to get much more excited.

Maybe Bluelien will sell well.

But if the goal is maximizing hype during The Dead Are Rising, I honestly think Alfred, Tick, or even a Sneers-related offer would've generated far more discussion and excitement.

A Phobies player can dream 😂💀
